Tractor-trailer crash results in death of driver and injury of two pedestrians
GARVIN COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – The driver of a tractor-trailer died Tuesday after crashing into a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 35 in Garvin County; the impact caused the second tractor-trailer to hit two pedestrians. The name of the deceased tractor-trailer driver has not yet been released by Oklahoma Highway Patrol. That driver was behind the wheel of a 2017 Freightliner, heading south on I-35, according to an OHP news release.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are searching for the driver who seriously injured a Good Samaritan last week who was helping out another whose car had become disabled in Oakland Park. The hit-and-run crash was reported around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of East Cypress Creek Road at North Dixie Highway. Deputies said the victim, James Patterson, was helping the driver whose car broke down when he was struck by a vehicle similar to a 2013-2016 Lexus GS 350.

PLANT CITY, Fla. - A 21-year-old man was killed shortly after midnight on Sunday after being hit by a car on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the man stopped in the median of I-4 to help move a pickup truck that had been involved in a crash along westbound I-4 near County Line Road. As the man was walking to the vehicle a car traveling westbound on I-4 hit and killed him before colliding with a guardrail.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas DPS has released the identity of the man who was killed during a crash on Parmer Lane on May 20. According to DPS, 45-year-old Patrick Obumnene, of Pflugerville, was stopped in the right lane of Parmer Lane due to a flat tire at around 4:42 p.m. DPS says that a 2017 Nissan NV200 was traveling west on Parmer Lane in the same lane.

A 21-year-old Bergen County woman who stepped out of her SUV after a three-vehicle crash Thursday on the New Jersey Turnpike in Fort Lee was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer whose driver fled the scene, authorities said. Jada Smith, of Teaneck, was pronounced dead at the scene of the hit-and-run crash, which occurred about 10:25 p.m. in the southbound express lanes of Interstate 95 near mile marker 121.5, according to New Jersey State Police.

A 66-year-old San Jose man was struck and killed after getting out of his vehicle and trying to cross U.S. Highway 101 in San Martin in Santa Clara County early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 south of San Martin Avenue. The man had stopped his vehicle in the center divider and got out and began walking toward another vehicle stopped on the right-hand shoulder when a 58-year-old woman driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla struck and killed him, CHP officials said.

Tampa homicide detectives are investigating a car crash that killed one person Monday morning. A driver stopped at a red light on Columbus Drive at Himes Avenue in Tampa around 9:30 a.m. was rear-ended by another driver, according to the Tampa Police Department. The crash caused a chain reaction, and five vehicles were involved. The driver who was originally rear-ended died, according to police. The driver’s identity has not yet been released by authorities.

Linn County area responders were called to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highways 13 and 30 Thursday evening. Upon arriving, they found that a truck traveling westbound had struck a car that was disabled on the north side of the highway, pushing it into the ditch where it then caught fire. The occupant of the car was standing near the vehicle when it was struck but was uninjured.

WESTAMPTON - When a car broke down on the New Jersey Turnpike here, its occupants’ troubles were just beginning, authorities say. A Gloucester County man who walked away from the disabled vehicle was hit by a truck on the southbound highway, according to New Jersey State Police. Mark McCarrie, 34, of Logan, and two passengers who likewise left the car also were charged with drug offenses, according to New Jersey State Police.

The Illinois State Police has released information regarding four crashes that occurred on Interstate 80 just west of Brisbin Road on May 22nd. ISP officials say they responded to a traffic crash at the aforementioned location at 10:07 p.m. A White Toyota Paseo was traveling on Interstate 80 westbound in the left lane. A White Toyota Prius was traveling in the same direction in the right lane. The driver of the Paseo crossed over the lane markings and struck the left rear driver side of the Prius, which ended up in the ditch.
