Multi-vehicle crash on Maine Turnpike in York caused by deer strike
YORK, Maine — A crash involving multiple vehicles temporarily disrupted traffic Tuesday evening on the Maine Turnpike after a car struck a deer and became disabled in the roadway. The crash happened shortly before 7:15 p.m. near mile marker 13 in the southbound lanes, the Maine Department of Public Safety said in a press release, when a red Mitsubishi Mirage hit a deer in the center lane and was left immobile.

A 42-year-old woman from Henrietta was killed in a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident at 3:30 p.m. on June 6 on U.S. Highway 287 near N. Butler Road. The Department of Public Safety report states Car Dianne Chitwood was driving a 2015 Honda Accord northwest on U.S. 82. She was having mechanical issues and had stopped the vehicle on the left shoulder, partially in the left lane. Chitwood had exited the vehicle and stood in the left lane to inspect the Honda.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man, who was out of a vehicle after hitting a tree, died late Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle in southwest Bakersfield. The Bakersfield Police Department said on June 7, 2025, at around 11:14 p.m., officers were called to the area of Old River Road and White Oak Drive for a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found a man dead.

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — A man died Monday morning after being hit by a big rig in Stanislaus County. According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened around 9:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 99, north of Keyes Road. CHP says its preliminary investigation found a 48-year-old man was driving a 2022 Freightliner in the slow lane while an Acura was parked on the right shoulder. A man got out of the driver’s side of the Acura and walked directly into the path of the Freightliner.

MISSOURI VALLEY, Iowa (KTIV) - Interstate 29, between U.S. 30 and Exit 82 near Missouri Valley, has reopened following an accident Saturday afternoon. According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, it happened near mile Marker 88, near the Missouri Valley exit. It happened around 4:15 p.m. and wasn’t cleared until hours later. The Iowa State Patrol reports that a previous accident occurred, resulting in a vehicle being stuck in a ditch.

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Dearborn Heights man died early Friday after police say he rear-ended a gravel hauler that was pulled over on the freeway due to mechanical issues. Michigan State Police said the hauler was stopped along the right shoulder at I-94 and the Southfield Freeway around 12:25 a.m. when it was struck by a pickup truck. When troopers arrived, they found the pickup in the right and center lanes with heavy front-end damage, while the hauler was on the shoulder.

Georgetown, TX 3 June 4, 2025, two people were injured following a two-truck accident shortly before 2:45 a.m. along Interstate Highway 35. According to authorities, a box truck was traveling on I.H. 35 in the vicinity of Southeast Inner Loop when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, it veered off of the side of the road before overcorrecting. The then struck the center median and overturned, coming to a stop resting on its side.

(13 News) - State officials are trying to raise awareness of the dangers of stopping along highways after two good Samaritans were killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Tucson on Sunday night. It happened after a car pulled over to help a disabled vehicle near the Speedway exit. It was the second similar crash in the Tucson area in just two weeks. On May 15, a man was hit and killed on Interstate 19 while changing a tire for a family friend.

BRIDGEWATER – An 89-year-old Somerville woman died June 2 after the car in which she was a passenger struck a disabled shuttle bus on Route 22. Jung Bang died in the crash at about 3:20 p.m. June 2 on westbound Route 22 in the vicinity of Bill Vince’s Bridgewater Acura, according to township police. Bang was the front-seat passenger in a 2009 Hyundai Sonata driven by 90-year-old Won Park, also of Somerville, that drifted to the right shoulder and struck a 2009 Chevrolet Shuttle Bus that was parked and disabled on the right shoulder, police said.

One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash that involved a work crew on Interstate 70 early Monday morning in Clark County. Emergency crews responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on I-70 near mile post 47 around 1:47 a.m., according to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Traffic was backed up for miles in the overnight hours. The patrol said a 2023 Subaru Legacy going eastbound on Interstate 70 hit a truck-mounted impact attenuator (light, sign and arrow board) belonging to a contractor for the Ohio Department of Transportation.
