NEOGA, Ill. (WCIA) — A semi-trailer driver died over the weekend after a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County. Illinois State Police responded to Interstate 57 southbound at milepost 172, near Neoga around 3:35 p.m. on Saturday. When State Police arrived, they learned that a two-axle box truck was traveling south on I-57 and a truck-tractor semi-trailer combination vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder. The driver of the semi-trailer, a 31-year-old male from Guanajuato, Mexico, was outside his vehicle, attempting to add fuel.

Patroller killed while helping disabled driver on I-95 in Virginia

VIRGINIA - A crash on Interstate 95 in Virginia claimed the life of a safety service patroller while he was on the job Saturday night. What we know: The patroller was helping a disabled Audi on I-95 when a Chrysler 300 Sedan lost control near the 151-mile-marker just before 8 p.m. Police say the vehicle crossed all lanes of traffic before hitting both the patroller and the Audi driver. The patroller was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Semi hits Tesla stopped in middle of I-4, killing driver: FHP

LAKE MARY, Fla. (WFLA) — One person is dead after a semi hit a Tesla that was stopped in the center lane of I-4 in Lake Mary Monday night, the Florida Highway Patrol announced. A 2020 Tesla Model 3, driven by a 43-year-old Deltona man, was stopped in the eastbound lanes of I-4 when a 2024 Peterbilt semi-truck approaching the disabled vehicle changed lanes to avoid hitting it. According to FHP, a 2018 International semi-truck was behind the first semi and veered left, attempting to avoid the Tesla.

SWAN VALLEY — A 30-year-old Idaho Falls man died Monday morning when he struck a cow and his disabled vehicle was then hit by a pickup truck, state police said. The man, driving a 2010 Volkswagen CC, hit a cow on the roadway near Swan Valley around 6:55 a.m. and became disabled in the travel lane state police said, adding that a 2019 Ram 2500 pickup then struck the Volkswagen in thick fog and darkness.

One killed in I-95 crash after tractor trailer driver hits dump truck, service truck and mechanic

a three-vehicle crash on I-95 N in Cumberland County. This happened around 6:30 a.m. at mile marker 53 near Fayetteville and NC-24. Investigators told ABC11 News that a disabled dump truck was parked in the breakdown lane, with a service truck nearby on the side of the road. A tractor-trailer driver sideswiped both vehicles, hitting the mechanic and rear-ending the dump truck. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. ABC11 is working to confirm their identity.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were killed dead and two more injured in a six-vehicle crash near Osceola, Arkansas that was blamed on poor visibility from a nearby fire. The crash happened Friday around 3:30 on State Highway 181, north of State Highway 140 in Mississippi County, Arkansas State Police said. Traffic had slowed because of smoke from a field burning east of the highway, ASP said. A GMC Terrain driven by Mackenzie Marie Risner, 21, of Manila, struck the rear of a 2012 Kenworth semi-truck, causing the GMC to roll into a ditch.

Man killed in I-5 hit-and-run south of Sperry Avenue near Patterson, CHP says

An 84-year-old man was killed late Tuesday in an apparent hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 south of Sperry Avenue in the Patterson area, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officials said officers responded about 11:10 p.m. to a report of a disabled motorist attempting to wave down vehicles along northbound I-5. When they arrived, they found an unoccupied Hyundai sedan parked on the right shoulder and the driver lying in the center median with injuries consistent with being struck by a passing vehicle.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested after he was suspected of being part of a hit-and-run that took place on Interstate 75 Monday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Kia Sorento was disabled and stopped on the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 131 around 9:00 p.m. When the driver attempted to get out of the vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup truck hit the Kia driver’s door and then left the scene.

ISP squad car struck on I-55 near Dwight

For the 10th time this year, an Illinois State Police squad car was struck while investigating an accident. The accident, according to an ISP report, occurred on Interstate 55 at milepost 217 in Livingston County. The exit is located on the west side of Dwight. The crash occurred about 2:45 a.m., as an ISP trooper was parked in the right lane of I-55 southbound behind a disabled vehicle involved in a previous crash.
