Car bursts into flames after collision on I-91 in North Haven
NORTH HAVEN — No one was hurt when a tractor trailer burst into flames after being hit by a tractor trailer on the highway Saturday night. It happened on Interstate 91 north at Exit 10 shortly after 8 p.m. Fire officials said a “disabled motor vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer and burst into flames.” The occupants were out of the vehicle by the time the collision happened. As crews worked to extinguish the flames and get the scene cleared, the left two lanes of I-91 north between Exit 10 and Exit 11 were closed.

A Monroe woman was struck by one car and hit by a second as two men helped her from the first wreck scene Friday. The two men were also injured. According to the Monroe Police Department, around 9 p.m. Friday, a police officer was called out to a pedestrian and vehicle wreck in the 3500 block of DeSiard Street. Upon arrival he was informed a traffic investigator was already working a pedestrian and vehicle crash in the same location.

A Visalia teenager was struck by a semi-truck after the man pulled over to fix a flat tire on the side of Highway 99, according to California Highway Patrol officers. Around 7:42 p.m. on Wednesday, CHP’s Fresno dispatch center received a call that a man had been hit on Highway 99 and was lying in the northbound lanes, just south of Merritt Drive in Traver. Officers and paramedics rushed to the scene and found the 18-year-old man.

HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – Two women involved in an accident on a Texas highway were killed after a tractor-trailer smashed into several vehicles that had stopped on the road. Two young children were injured, as was a man who jumped off the freeway overpass to avoid the oncoming truck, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. The multiple crashes happened about 1:30 a.m. Friday on Houston’s North Freeway. According to the sheriff’s office, an SUV carrying a man, a woman and their children pulled over after the vehicle got a flat tire.

MONROE, LA, (April 10, 2020) - A woman was seriously injured on Friday, April 10th in Monroe when she was struck by a car and then hit by a second one as two Good Samaritans tried to help her. The unidentified woman was first struck at about 9:00 p.m. in the 3500 block of DeSiard Street by a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by 18-year-old Dango Dean. The force of the collision sent the woman into the westbound lanes.

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7)– UPDATE: Frederick Carter, 60 of Thaxton, first hit the victim after he was unable to see the man who was partially in the road and wearing dark clothes. Objects that were hanging from the driver’s rearview mirror obstructed his view as well in this case. When the driver stopped to help the man, another vehicle hit the victim. His injuries were not critical, according to the statement from Roanoke County.

NEWBERRY, SC, (April 03, 2020) - Emmanuil Khmelnitskiy tragcally died on Friday, April 3rd after being struck by a tractor-trailer in a hit-and-run in Newberry County. Khmelnitskiy, 17, was hit at about 7:40 a.m. on Interstate 26 by Kendrick Coakley, who was operating the rig with a suspended license. Khmelnitskiy’s was legally parked in the emergency lane at the time of the collision. Coakley fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities.

A second medic was requested to the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash reported around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of North Gettysburg and Freudenberger avenues.

A woman was struck and killed by tractor-trailer while she was helping people on the side of Interstate 20, according to the Aiken County coroner. Tamesha Singletary, 44, of Graniteville, was pronounced dead at the Augusta University Medical Center after the accident that happened Friday on I-20 westbound at mile marker 8, Coroner Darryl Ables said. Singletary was putting gas into the stranded vehicle before being hit by the trailer, the coroner said.

CLARNO, Wis. — Four vehicles were involved in a crash Thursday at 5:42 a.m. in the town of Clarno at the N1000 block of State Highway 69 with injuries. According to a release, Alberto Morales, 25, of Leaf River, Illinois, was traveling northbound when a deer entered the road and collided with the vehicle. The deer stayed in the lane and was hit by a second vehicle driven by 40-year-old Eduardo Vasquez-Martinez of Freeport, Illinois, that was behind Morales.
