Man changing flat tire killed by semi on Kansas interstate
OTTAWA, Kan. (AP) – A Wichita man who was changing a flat tire along the shoulder of an interstate in northeast Kansas died Tuesday after he was hit by a semi-trailer truck, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Sidney Leroy Huff, 73, died while changing the tire on Interstate 35 in Franklin County, about 5 miles from Ottawa, the patrol said. The driver of the truck drove over a white edge line of the light lane and struck Huff, the patrol report said.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — One person has died after their vehicle was hit twice by two tractor-trailers early Sunday morning. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, around 2:10 a.m., a Buick and a tractor-trailer were traveling eastbound along I-26 near mile marker 113. Authorities said the Buick hit the rear of the tractor-trailer, spun around and overturned several times before becoming disabled on the interstate. After the first collision, the Buick was then struck by a second tractor-trailer.

One man is hospitalized after he and another man were struck by a vehicle on highway 38 two miles west of Marshfield late Saturday night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says both had exited their cars after one broke down when a third vehicle smashed into the back of the first car, causing it to hit the second car, causing it to hit the men. Everyone else involved sustained minor injuries.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Christopher Deason, 59, of Kansas City, Kansas, was killed when the 2015 Jeep Patriot he was driving struck the back of a 2017 Freightliner semi tractor. The semi was driven by Artis Henry, 39 of Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was not injured in the crash. The driver of a passenger car was killed when the vehicle hit the back of a semi that was stopped and broken down in the middle lane of Interstate 70 west of Interstate 435.

MDTA police said the situation unfolded around 10 a.m. when a truck hit a disabled vehicle, highlighting the dangers of disabled vehicles on bridges. MDTA officials said they were responding to the disabled vehicle on the Key Bridge, but unfortunately, before they got there, an international truck hit the disabled Honda Sedan, sending the driver who was standing outside of the vehicle over the side and into the water. Marine units from the Coast Guard, Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County searched for the man, officials said.

The impact pushed the disabled car into three people standing outside the vehicle. All three were taken to the hospital.

A good Samaritan was hit while trying to help people involved in a car crash near the scene of a vehicle fire on Interstate 95 northbound in Foxborough on Monday. A man stopped near exit 8 near the Foxborough/Mansfield line to check on the occupants of two cars involved in a rear-end collision when a third vehicle crashed into one of the cars, state police said. The impact knocked the good Samaritan, who had been standing next to the driver’s side window of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, to the ground.

North Canton Police Chief Frank Kemp Jr. said the department received several 911 calls for a two-car crash in the 100 block of Everhard Road SW at 6:37 p.m. The report stated police, fire, and EMS crews arrived on scene just five minutes later.
