According to a spokesperson for West Valley City PD, the man was standing in the dark about 10:21 p.m., attempting to repair his vehicle’s electrical system, when the accident happened. Due to the failure of the electrical system, the vehicle’s hazard lights were inoperative.

CHP investigates 4-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 4 in Pittsburg

A fatal crash involving four vehicles on eastbound Highway 4 in Pittsburg shut down all lanes Friday morning. A severe traffic alert was issued at 5:33 a.m. before all lanes were reopened over three hours later. The crash occurred west of Railroad Avenue. Eastbound traffic of Highway 4 was diverted off at Bailey Road during the closure. All lanes were reopened at 9 a.m. According to CHP’s incident log, a disabled vehicle was blocking the middle lane before another vehicle collided with it.

(WOOD) — People were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash on US-131 in Grand Rapids Thursday night that shut down northbound lanes of the highway, the Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed. BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 19-year-old pedestrian killed on 7th Standard Road back on September 28 was identified as Fabian Ignacio Castaneda, of Bakersfield. The Kern County coroner said Castaneda was struck at around 12:05 a.m. on 7th Standard Road, east of Heath Road. Bakersfield police said Castaneda was hit from behind by a car while he was pushing his broken-down car. Castaneda died at the scene. Police said an investigation determined he was pushing his disabled vehicle into the roadway when he was struck from behind by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

HASTINGS, Minn. — A man is dead after being struck while trying to pull a deer off the roadway in Dakota County Wednesday. Dakota County Sheriff Joe Leko says the fatal incident happened on County Road 46 near General Sieben Drive in Marshan Township shortly after 6:30 a.m. The driver, a 69-year-old man from Hastings, reportedly hit a deer while driving west, pulled over onto the shoulder and walked out to pull the animal off County 46.

Man killed in crash on Route 62 in Mercer County identified

One person was killed and another person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Mercer County. It happened on State Route 62 around 6:30 p.m. near the state police barracks. Two people stopped along the road way to remove a dead deer from the road, when a car coming in the opposite direction hit them. According to Mercer County PSP, 27-year-old Daniel Johnson of Jackson Center died at the scene, and another pedestrian was life-flighted to the hospital.

Semi-truck driver charged in deadly I-44 pedestrian crash

SULLIVAN, Mo. – A semi-truck driver faces a felony charge after he left the scene of a deadly pedestrian crash on Interstate 44 in Sullivan, Missouri. The Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Etem Missark, 60, of Orlando, Florida, with one count of leaving the scene of an accident (resulting in death). The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of I-44 near the 225-mile marker. Investigators have since identified Missark as the driver of the semi-truck that left the scene after the crash.
