Dallas County sheriffs release video of truck involved in I-35 deadly hit-and-run
DALLAS - The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is hoping someone can come forward with information that will help them solve a deadly hit-and-run case. The sheriff’s office released new surveillance video on Thursday showing a green F-150 pickup truck they believe was involved in the crash. That crash killed 27-year-old Gene Gathright Jr. as he stood outside his car early Sunday morning. Gene Gathright Sr. called his son every Sunday. But this past Sunday, Gathright Jr.

A Vernon Hills man suffered critical injuries after his car broke down and was struck by another vehicle on Lake Cook Road on the border of Wheeling and Buffalo Grove. The Wheeling Fire Department and Wheeling Police Department responded around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to the area of Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Wheeling Deputy Police Chief Michael Conway said the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Lake Cook Road west of Milwaukee Avenue.

UPDATE: Maricopa County Attorney’s Office filed felony charges against 45-year-old Nicholas Stewart Meyer, according to paperwork filed on November 4. On Sunday morning, 23-year-old Zoey Johnson and 22-year-old Rayme Barnes were tending to Barnes’ stalled car on the emergency shoulder of the US-60 near Stapley Road around 8 a.m. That’s when DPS investigators say a passenger vehicle made a lane change and failed to maintain driving within the lane, drifting off the road and hitting Johnson and Barnes.

Houston, TX — November 4, 2024, a male pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle on the Interstate 45 North Freeway in Houston. According to authorities, the incident happened around 4:35 a.m. on I-45 North near West Road. Preliminary investigation suggests the victim was driving a Chevrolet Impala on the feeder road when he may have lost control and crashed into a nearby business’ fence. After his vehicle became disabled he reportedly got out and tried to run across the freeway, where he was hit by a vehicle that left the scene.

A 19-year-old driver was killed on Interstate 80 in Morris County Sunday morning when his car struck the back of a box truck parked on the shoulder, police said. Cameron Ray, of Mount Olive, was headed west at 5:40 a.m., when his vehicle drove onto the shoulder of the highway near milepost 38.2 in Denville, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said in an email Sunday afternoon. Ray lived in the Flanders section of the township, about 15 miles west of where the crash occurred.

TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) —A series of collisions on a busy East Valley freeway has left one person dead and another critically hurt early Sunday morning. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crashes happened around 3 a.m. on the westbound lanes of the Loop 202 Red Mountain, adjacent to the Scottsdale Road off-ramp. Troopers say a white car rear-ended a gray Honda SUV, causing the SUV to block lanes of the freeway.

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Thursday in Medina County. According to OSHP, the crash happened at around 10:12 p.m. on I-71 in Westfield Township. Officials believe that a Volvo commercial vehicle driving south on I-71 became disabled in the right lane. Moments later, a 2018 Chevrolet Trax traveling south on I-71 struck the Volvo. OSHP also noted that an unknown third vehicle, believed to be a maroon or red commercial vehicle, also struck the Volvo, but fled the scene.

The crash happened just before 5:25 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Wendy Drive. When the California Highway Patrol and Ventura County Fire Department arrived, they found the big rig parked on the right shoulder. Officers located the other wrecked vehicle, a 2016 Honda Accord, overturned on its roof about 500 feet from the semi.

It happened near the off-ramp from I-95 northbound to Route 7 in Newport around 9 p.m. Police say a white Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling in the right northbound lane of I-95, north of Churchmans Road. At the same time, a 49-year-old man from Newark was crossing the northound lanes of the interstate as he attempted to get to the east side of the roadway from his disabled vehicle that was on the left shoulder.
