Driver dies after he was stopped and hit from behind on Interstate 40 in Knoxville
David Ray, 41, of Blue Island, Illinois, was killed in a crash early Nov. 20 on Interstate 40. Police say Ray was stopped at 3:45 a.m., though they don’t know why, in the far right lane near Midway Road. A box truck hit car from behind, and Ray was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured, police say.

BEE COUNTY, Tx — 12:50 PM UPDATE- D.P.S. has identified the victims of Friday morning’s crash as 22-year-old Marina Ramirez of Alice and 30-year-old Steven Gamez of Beeville. According to DPS, Ramirez was in her 2016 Kia Forte traveling north on State Highway 359 when she hit a 2017 Mack garbage truck travelling in front of her. Her Kia spun around and stopped in the northbound lane. Moments later, Gamez and his father pulled over to help her.

A pickup truck driver struck a deer, stopped to move the animal out of the road in western Wisconsin and was fatally hit by two vehicles after dark, officials said Wednesday. The chain of events occurred about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday east of Turtle Lake, the Barron County Sheriff’s Office said. The man who died was 75 years old and from nearby Cameron, the Sheriff’s Office said. His identity has yet to be released.

JONES COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Jones County official says heavy smoke from a nearby fire is likely a factor in a multi-car pile-up along an Eastern Carolina highway Tuesday morning. Ryan Mills, with Jones County Emergency Services, says eight cars are involved in a collision along Highway 17. The North Carolina Department of Transportation says it happened in the Northbound lanes at mile marker 120 outside of Maysville near Green Way.

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — Authorities say the body of a Wisconsin father who went missing on Wednesday night has been located following a two-day search. According to New Berlin police, the body of 45-year-old Ben Oberto was located on Friday afternoon after authorities found his silver 2019 Subaru Impreza overturned in a creek along the curve of the I-90 eastbound ramp to I-294 northbound, in Rosemont, near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Myrtle Beach man was killed Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle that sent them colliding with a disabled car on the shoulder of Highway 501, authorities said. David Berry, 50, died at Conway Medical Center of multiple traumatic injuries, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said Saturday evening. It happened about 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Savannah Bluff Road about two miles east of Conway, South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper William Bennett said.

LANCASTER, Pa. — A multi-vehicle crash on the westbound Route 30 overpass over Route 283 occurred around 3:40 p.m. The overpass is now open after being closed for almost an hour. A vehicle hit a truck that was broken down on the side of the road, causing the empty truck to hit the siderail. Two family members from Minnesota were killed when their SUV struck a semitrailer truck that was pulled over partly in the lane of traffic along the Kansas Turnpike and then hit another semi that was stopped. The crash occurred about 4:10 a.m. Monday on northbound Interstate 35 near Wichita, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Killed in the accident were 78-year-old Thomas Reller and 27-year-old Octavia Reller, according to the patrol.

The Wheeling Fire Department and Wheeling Police Department responded around 9:30 a.m. on November 6 to the area of Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Wheeling Deputy Police Chief Michael Conway said the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Lake Cook Road west of Milwaukee Avenue.
