78-year-old woman killed in vehicle fire after semi-trucks hit stopped SUV on I-75
SAGINAW COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) - A 78-year-old woman died in a vehicle fire on Thursday morning after two semi-trucks hit her SUV on I-75, causing it to burst into flames. Michigan State Police said the victim’s GMC Arcadia was stopped and possibly disabled in the right lane of the southbound side of the freeway near Dixie Highway in Saginaw County, not far from Frankenmuth, around 6 a.m. While stopped, the vehicle was sideswiped by a semi driven by a 59-year-old Cadillac man.

LANHAM, MD — A 40-year-old Lanham man was killed while standing outside his vehicle that was parked on the left shoulder of I-495. Seven others were injured in the two-vehicle collision. Maryland State Patrol troopers from the Forestville Barrack were alerted Sept. 15 around 8:50 p.m. to a crash involving a 2016 Honda Pilot and a 2018 Mercedes sedan on the Outer Loop of Interstate 495 at Route 50 in Lanham.

BRIDGER, (KCCR) — A 26 year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a two vehicle crash in Haakon County. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol the crash happened Wednesday morning around 12:45 am on South Dakota Highway 34 at mile marker 128, approximately 34 miles northwest of Philip and approximately seven miles south of the Cheyenne River crossing at Bridger. The preliminary crash investigation shows the driver of a 2001 Freightliner was parked in the travel lane with it’s emergency flashers activated at the time of the crash.

Covington, Tx (FOX44) – A 44-year-old man was killed early Tuesday in Hill County when a disabled pickup truck was struck by another vehicle, striking the victim. Christopher Lozano was pronounced dead at the scene on State Highway 171 northwest of Covington in Hill County. Department of Public Safety Sgt. Ryan Howard said it happened about 12:28 a.m. Tuesday. He said a Chevrolet pickup was going north on Highway 171 when it developed mechanical problems, leaving it disabled in the roadway.

A three-car crash on Highway 14 Tuesday morning resulted in a man being taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with significant injuries, according to California Highway Patrol officials. The initial call went out around 3:55 a.m. regarding a disabled vehicle blocking lanes on the southbound side of Highway 14, south of Via Princessa, according to Josh Greengard, spokesman for the CHP Newhall Area Office. While officers were responding to the call, they received word that the disabled car, a tan 2000 Honda sedan, was struck by a Nissan Altima and then sideswiped by another Honda sedan before the original disabled vehicle became stranded in the middle lanes, facing traffic.

DRAPER, Utah — A baby is in critical condition after a crash on I-15 Sunday night, and the aftermath led to the closure of northbound lanes. The initial crash near 12300 South in Draper caused a chain reaction involving three more vehicles, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials. UHP said the first vehicle, a Range Rover, with two adults and two children on board, spun out because it was going too fast for the wet road.

Three people died and two others were injured after a brutal crash on the 215 Freeway in San Bernardino, authorities said. A CHP spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the collision occurred on the northbound span of the 215 near University Parkway around 11:26 p.m. Saturday. According to a CHP news release, a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was stopped on the right shoulder of the 215 when a driver behind the wheel of a 2018 Toyota Corolla veered onto the shoulder and crashed into the Cascadia’s rear.

A Worthington, Minn., woman was killed Friday when her vehicle was rear-ended on Interstate 90 outside Worthington. According to the State Patrol, 75-year-old Christie Lee Eichner was killed shortly after 1 p.m. when a pickup truck hit her SUV while she was stopped in a lane on I-90. The accident at 1:12 p.m. Friday. The pickup driver was a 45-year-old woman from Redfield. S.D., who had her two teens in the vehicle.

After hitting the truck, the car then struck a construction worker who was sitting in the grass nearby.
