Woman with flat tire killed on highway after ambulance crashes into her car
HOOD RIVER COUNTY Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - An Oregon woman has died after an ambulance crashed into her car while she was on the side of the road. According to Oregon State Police, a 55-year-old woman was killed after the ambulance hit her vehicle on Interstate 84 near milepost 54 just after 1 a.m. Thursday. Investigators say an American Medical Response ambulance driven by 42-year-old Amanda Hancock was heading west on I-84 when it drifted out of the travel lane and hit a Chevrolet Camaro.

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a good Samaritan was struck and killed Thursday afternoon south of Edinburgh. According to the BCSO, a car broke down on the side of U.S. 31, near West 800 North, around 1 p.m. July 18 when what police are calling a good Samaritan stopped to help the stranded driver. Deputies said another driver hit and killed the good Samaritan.

GRUNDY CENTER, IA, (July 18, 2024) - Multiple people were injured in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash Thursday afternoon near Grundy Center. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2011 Ford Edge, Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Expedition were stopped on eastbound Highway 175 for road construction at about 4:15 p.m. when the 2011 Edge was hit from behind by a 2010 Ford Edge. That resulted in the 2011 Edge hitting the Chevy, which then struck the Expedition.

SHENANDOAH CO., Va. (7News) — A D.C. man is fighting for his life after walking away from a single-vehicle crash, only to be struck by a tractor-trailer moments later early Sunday morning, according to Virginia State Police (VSP). The 45-year-old was driving a 2014 Honda CRV along Interstate 81 when it crashed near the 292-mile marker at around 3 a.m. Officials said the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and the driver overcorrected before colliding with a guardrail on the right shoulder.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — A Boise man is back home and recovering after being hit by a car while helping the victim of a hit-and-run in Meridian in June. 57-year-old Tom Lamp got out of his car to help a seriously injured motorcyclist when another car hit both men. “I saw some lights, I heard a tire skid, and then a car was coming up the road and hit us both,” Lamp said.

MURRAY, Utah — Two pedestrians died early Saturday in a crash after being struck by two different vehicles after they stepped out of their car. According to a Department of Public Safety press release, Utah Highway Patrol was called out to a crash at about 900 West on Interstate 215 at 3:54 a.m. DPS said a female had “entered the right travel lane” after exiting a dark SUV that had pulled over to the shoulder of the interstate.

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - There was a highspeed accident on Highway 191 around 8 a.m. on July 12. According to the Midland Police Department, 73-year-old Tommy Earl Palmer stopped his car on the highway and was rear-ended by a Peterbilt cement truck. MPD does not know why Palmer stopped his car on the highway. Palmer was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital but he died from his injuries.

A Sandusky man and two passengers including a teenager were killed after a crash involving three vehicles in Seneca County Thursday morning, authorities said. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident happened on County Road 24 in Scipio Township just before 11 a.m. Troopers say a driver operating a Ram Promaster ran a stop sign at State Route 18 and hit a Ford pickup truck driven by 41-year-old Joseph Miller.

The vehicle of a missing Idaho woman found dead Tuesday appears to have vaulted off a nearly 60-foot cliff before submerging in a river, according to a preliminary report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The body of Laura Lane, 54, was found July 7 after her red Dodge Dart was pulled from the Buffalo Fork River near Moran, Wyoming, in Grand Teton National Park. The vehicle floated in heavy spring runoff before submerging under water about a quarter mile downstream, WHP reports.

MULBERRY, Fla. - A deadly crash closed a Mulberry road for several hours on Wednesday night. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office say Rafael Bubaire, 49, of Tampa, was driving a Phos semi-truck hauling a dump trailer around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday when he stopped his rig in the northbound lane of Old Hwy 37 near Jamison Road, presumably due to a mechanical issue. (Deputies at the scene later said one of the right tires was flat).
