Roxbury woman fatally struck by SUV while standing outside car on Braintree highway
BRAINTREE, MASS. (WHDH) - A Roxbury woman died after an SUV hit her while she was standing on the side of Route 3 in Braintree early Sunday morning, according to the Massachusetts State Police. At around 3:10 a.m., a 2013 Toyota Rav4 was traveling northbound on the highway when it struck a deer, police said. The driver, a 63-year-old Roxbury man, pulled over and stopped in the right lane to check the car’s damage, police said.

One person was killed and two more were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 30 near Benton on Friday morning, a preliminary fatality report from the Arkansas State Police states Jacob Benedict, 29, of Benton died about 6:09 a.m. after the 2017 Nissan Altima he was driving west on I-30 struck the rear of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that had just hit a concrete barrier, the report states. A cloud of dust from nearby construction was obscuring the interstate at the time, investigators wrote in the report.

An Oregon man hit by a tractor-trailer May 15 on Interstate 205 in Salmon Creek has died of his injuries, the Washington State Patrol said Friday. Jason Rivera Peinado, 18, of Gresham, Ore., had parked his car on the shoulder of I-205 south near 134th Street. He exited his vehicle, stepped into the roadway and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Martin J. Gorton, 60, of Vancouver. Gorton was not injured in the crash, according to a State Patrol crash memo.

FIFE, Wash. — All lanes have reopened on southbound Interstate 5 after an hours-long closure Friday morning following a deadly crash. A car headed southbound struck a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder before 4:45 a.m. Friday morning. The southbound car was then struck by a semi-truck. The driver of the southbound car was killed, while the driver of the disabled vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

LAURENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said one pedestrian is dead and three others are in the hospital following an overnight crash in Laurens on Wednesday. According to troopers, at 2 a.m., four people were standing in the median on I-385 near a disabled vehicle at mile marker 12 when a Honda civic hit them. Highway patrol said one pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene.

A 74-year-old Valrico man was killed on Tuesday, June 11, after his pickup truck collided with a disabled vehicle on I-75, the Florida Highway Patrol said. At about 8:40 p.m., an Infiniti Q50 driven by a 25-year-old Sanford man was traveling south on I-75 in the inside lane. South of State Road 56, the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered the median and collided with a guardrail. Upon impact, the vehicle was redirected back into the travel lanes, where the driver exited and retreated to safety off the roadway.

A Lower Yakima Valley man is dead after a Kennewick driver hit his two-door Honda while it was parked along the shoulder of Interstate 82, according to the Washington State Patrol. Sean D. Orrin, 33, of Kennewick, was driving a Ford Explorer east on the interstate approaching Zillah in Yakima County at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. He changed lanes and his SUV hit the disabled Honda that Jorge Ochoa, 36, of Toppenish, had been driving.

CRESCENT SPRINGS, Ky — A 4-year-old was killed and one man was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 southbound in Northern Kentucky Sunday night, Sergeant Aaron Schihl with the Kenton County Police Department said. The crash happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. near the Buttermilk Pike exit in Crescent Springs, according to officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. We saw a large police presence on the scene Sunday night and early Monday morning.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — A man found dead in an SUV that had crashed into a creek in Montgomery County on Sunday morning had been there for days, according to authorities. Around 9 a.m., a bicyclist reported seeing the SUV in Lake Creek off Honea Egypt Road. When authorities got to the scene, they saw the partially submerged vehicle on its side. They said there were a couple of alligators nearby, which added difficulty to the recovery efforts.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the teen was critically injured when the 2016 Toyota Rav4 they were a passenger in collided head-on with a sedan. After the initial collision, the sedan was then struck by a second sedan. After being struck, the first sedan struck a pickup truck.
