One dead in crash with semi-truck on I-5 near Camp Pendleton
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — At least one person is dead after a car collided with a semi-truck on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton Thursday night, according to California Highway Patrol. The collision was reported just before 9 p.m., near the Cockleburr Road overpass. According to CHP logs, a sedan was traveling at high rates of speed along the southbound lanes when the driver lost control and struck the semi-truck, which was on the right hand side of the road.

BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) - The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office needs help identifying the driver of a Jeep who struck a truck driver as he worked on the shoulder of Highway 75 Monday night. The Jeep driver left two clues behind: Auto body parts from the Wrangler. Deputies, Bellevue Police, and Bellevue Fire & Rescue responded to Highway 75 near Childs Road just after 7 p.m. They found a 32-year-old Omaha man injured.

A 30-year-old man standing outside his car on the shoulder of the New Jersey Turnpike after he hit a disabled vehicle involved in an earlier crash was struck and killed by another southbound vehicle early Monday. Alton Smith, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead following the last of the three crashes along the inner roadway of the Turnpike near milepost 64.8 in Robbinsville, State Police said. The two cars involved in the first crash were disabled in the left lane when Smith struck one of the vehicles, which was unoccupied, officials said.

BOZRAH, Conn. (WTNH) – Serious injuries have been reported after a man was struck by a truck while walking around his disabled vehicle on Route 2. According to state police, troopers responded to a report of a car vs. pedestrian at around 11:20 p.m. on Route 2 West in the area of Exit 23. State police said the pedestrian was struck while attempting to walk around his vehicle, which had become disabled in the roadway after crashing into a portion of metal beam guide rail.

MISSOULA, Mont. — A semi sideswiped a broken-down SUV that was on the shoulder, causing the semi to run through the rail and into the barrier on the bridge around 7: 30 p.m. Sunday. Fire and EMS were on scene but officials at the scene reported no critical injuries. The semi was leaking fuel and fire crews were mitigating that risk with a cat litter type substance. Westbound traffic slowed to one lane as workers cleared the accident.

One person has died after a crash on Interstate 26 in Richland County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Just after 7 a.m. Friday, a 2017 Nissan Murano and a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox were traveling east near Irmo when they stopped in the roadway because of a prior collision, Master Trooper William Bennett said. A 2016 Dodge Ram hit the Chevy in the rear, pushing it into the Nissan. The driver of the Nissan Murano and the driver of the Dodge Ram were transported by EMS to area hospitals.

On April 15, Jacob Fuerte, 22, was driving to the LAFD training academy when his car crashed into another vehicle on the northbound 101 Freeway near Vineland Avenue in Studio City. The crash happened shortly after 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man involved in a car crash in El Cajon was struck by a separate vehicle after he exited his vehicle Tuesday night, according to the El Cajon Police Department. Around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, officers said two cars collided in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue. After investigating, they determined the driver of one of the involved vehicles left his car to take photos of the damage.

Lauren Bonvillian, 33, and her daughter Savannah Bagley, 4, were reported missing Sunday night. Late Monday night, authorities confirmed the two were killed in a wreck in Hill County, Texas. On Tuesday, the Texas Dept. of Public Safety confirmed the mother and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene where the Toyota Corolla they were traveling in crashed on SH-31 near County Line Road.
