2 men, Good Samaritans killed after helping crashed car on North Carolina highway
Two men who were stopped on the side of a North Carolina highway to help a driver who crashed into a ditch were killed, authorities say. Dr. Roger McMurray, 45 and Gregory Harman, 53, had separately pulled over on Sunday Dec. 17 to help a driver who went off the road and into a ditch at around 12:30 p.m. on the south bound lane of I-87, the N.C. State Highway Patrol said.

Crane County, TX — November 27, 2023, Freddy Antonio Arias was injured following a semi-trailer accident at around 4:15 a.m. on Interstate 20. Authorities released a summary of their initial findings following the accident, which they say happened on the north service road of I-20 just east of Monahans. According to officials, 61-year-old Freddy Antonio Arias was identified as the operator of a tractor-trailer which somehow got stuck in sand along north side shoulder of the service road.

MCBAIN — The Missaukee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run that happened on Monday around 4:25 p.m. in McBain. Deputies were called to Stoney Corners west of Cherry Street in McBain on Monday. They say it all started when a car went into the ditch due to snowy roads. A 51-year-old McBain woman stopped to check on the driver. Deputies say she was standing next to her car when another car driving east hit her.

BAZETTA — A Newton Falls man was killed early Friday in a crash on state Route 5. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles. The crash killed Bo Angel, 36. The other vehicle, a red 2018 Mack garbage truck, was driven by Bryan Wilson Jr., 34, of Warren. Angel succumbed to his injuries following the crash, according to the patrol, while Wilson suffered minor injuries.

EL PASO, TX, (December 16, 2023) - One person died and two others were seriously injured Saturday night in a hit-and-run accident in El Paso. According to the El Paso Police Department, a Dodge Charger was heading eastbound along Interstate 10 when it sustained a flat tire and stopped along the center median outside of the flow of traffic at approximately 6:30 p.m. Subsequently, a Ford Mustang attempted to swerve around an Acura that was helping to alert people to the Charger, entered the median, and struck the Charger and three pedestrians.

According to Cleveland police, the woman struck a parked car in the 3700 block of W. 130th Street around 9 p.m. This is in the city’s Jefferson neighborhood. PHOENIX — Eastbound Interstate 10 reopened Sunday morning in the far West Valley after it was temporarily closed due to a fatal crash. The closure went into effect at about 5 a.m. and was lifted around 10:35 a.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation said. It was at milepost 69, before Tonopah, ADOT said. According to ABC15, three people were pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were airlifted to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

The correct identity is 45-year-old Christopher Robert Fisher of Lafayette. A Friday morning crash left a Lafayette man dead, State Police say. Christopher Fisher, 45, was the passenger in a car that was traveling east on Interstate 10 near La. 35 in Acadia Parish, troopers say.

The fatal crash, which occurred just before 11 p.m. on Highway 13 in Oakland, California, began with the collision of a Zipcar Mohammed had rented and an unknown car that immediately drove away after the accident, according to several news reports. Following the initial crash, the Zipcar was disabled.

Witnesses told them the pedestrian, a 53-year-old Zeeland man, had been in a crash just moments before. They say he pulled over, got out of the car and walked into the road when a 64-year-old from Hudsonville hit him.
