Man fatally struck when he exited disabled vehicle in Bessemer now ID’d; police searching for driver
Authorities have released the name of a man struck and killed when he exited his disabled vehicle. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified fatality victim as Corey James Terrell. He was 34 and lived in Birmingham. The crash happened at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday on 18th Street North at the I-59/20 exit ramp. Terrell’s vehicle had broken down in the road. He was hit when he got out to attend to his vehicle, which had mechanical issues.

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 71-year-old Ocala man was killed Wednesday night when his van, which was disabled in the center lane of Interstate 75 in Marion County due to a previous wreck, was struck from behind by a car, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal crash happened around 10 p.m. on I-75 south, about 4 miles north of State Road 326. The FHP said a 46-year-old Oviedo man was driving his car in the center lane of I-75 and did not observe the van in time, striking the rear of the vehicle.

ROCKLIN, CA (March 19, 2024) — At least one person suffered an injury in a 3-car accident on the 80 Freeway near Rocklin Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a vehicle became disabled in the No. 1 lane. Subsequently, a second car crashed into the disabled vehicle, causing the disabled car to overturn on the center divider. At some point, a third car became involved.

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – Interstate 80 was shut down after a fatal pileup crash involving multiple tractor-trailer trucks on the Emlenton High-Level Bridge in Clarion County. The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the westbound lanes of the interstate. Aerial video from the KDKA Drone Team shows as many as eight tractor-trailers and other vehicles were involved in the pileup crash. PennDOT said the interstate was closed between Exit 42 near the Emlenton Travel Plaza and Exit 53 near the Wolfs Camping Resort.

Under unclear circumstances, a woman driving a southbound Toyota RAV4 SUV on Silverado Trail struck the man standing next to his disabled car. Subsequently, an off-duty Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy, who had previously seen the man standing near his vehicle, returned to the scene but was unable to save his life.

A 26-year-old Newark man died after being ejected from his vehicle following two crashes on I-495 in Wilmington early Saturday morning, according to police. Delaware State Police said a 1998 green Honda Accord was traveling behind a Bobtail tractor in the right northbound lane of I-495 on March 16, around 2:34 a.m. The green Honda rear-ended the Bobtail tractor and stopped partially on the shoulder and partially in the right lane of travel.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office identified the tour bus driver who was killed Friday morning after a crash with a school bus near Quincy, WA as 71-year-old Sidney Austin of Spokane. The Sheriff’s Office says a Quincy School District bus was picking up a student when it was rear-ended by a 19-year-old driving a Jeep Liberty. The driver pulled her Jeep off the road way and into a driveway, but the school bus was left in the road, blocking the westbound lane.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people have died in Kansas City, Missouri, after being hit by a Kansas City fire vehicle and a semitrailer Friday morning. Investigations revealed that a red Nissan Versa was stopped for unknown reasons in a lane of eastbound Interstate 435, just east of 103rd Street. The driver of a KCFD Ford Explorer that was also headed eastbound rear-ended the Nissan. As the vehicles came to a stop, a semitrailer then hit the Nissan.

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) – A fatal crash that happened in Cullman County Wednesday morning is under investigation, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports. At around 4:53 a.m., a 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer overturned on I-65 southbound near mile marker 306 and struck two guardrails. A 2023 Ram van collided with the tractor-trailer and was then struck by a 2006 Toyota Camry. 53-year-old Methuselah Kadigi, who was the van’s driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — A crash involving a semi-truck ended with a pickup truck catching on fire in west Phoenix late Wednesday night. The collision happened on westbound Interstate 10 near 67th Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Authorities say a pickup truck had its emergency lights on and was stopped on the freeway because of mechanical issues. A semi-truck driver then struck the pickup. The crash caused the truck to catch on fire, with flames quickly engulfing it.
