Woman, 73, critically injured in H-1 crash involving truck with propane tanks
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A crash involving a box truck carrying propane tanks shut down the H-1 Freeway in Halawa Tuesday, snarling traffic during the afternoon commute. The crash was reported at 2:40 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the Aiea off-ramp. According to the Honolulu Police Department, the truck was traveling westbound when its roll-up door became ajar. The 33-year-old male driver came to a stop to secure the door and was rear-ended by a passenger van driven by a 73-year-old woman, police said.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The heavy, early-morning fog set off a domino effect of crashes on Farm-to-Market Road 136 in San Patricio county Monday, after causing a crash near Aransas Pass. At about 8:30 a.m., a recreational vehicle on County Road 102 tried crossing FM 136. DPS Public Information Sgt. Harold “Rob” Mallory said the RV didn’t see a white commercial vehicle approaching on CR 102 as the RV crossed, and hit it, leaving the RV disabled in FM 136.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville authorities say a woman died after she was hit by a vehicle while trying to warn drivers of a disabled truck along Interstate 40 Sunday night. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. along the I-40E exit ramp to Old Hickory Boulevard and Central Pike. According to investigators, a preliminary investigation indicates that a black Chevrolet 1500 crashed on the exit ramp overpass and became disabled, which led to it partially blocking the right lane.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Virginia man was killed in a crash involving four vehicles. Greensboro police said the crash happened on Saturday at 6:55 p.m. on US 29 North near Lakeview Cemetery. According to a news release from police, a man driving a truck was stopped because of a separate crash. A driver of a car hit that stopped truck, which pushed the truck into an SUV, the SUV was pushed into a car.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A 32-year-old Manchester man is dead and at least 5 people were left injured after a series of crashes that occurred overnight Friday morning on Interstate 70. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the accidents occurred a little after 12:05 a.m. on westbound I-70, west of Earth City Expressway, involving at least 6 vehicles. A number of cars could be seen spattered across the interstate, sustaining serious damage.

The driver of the car, 26-year-old Rigo Tong, died at the scene, according to authorities, while the 40-year-old woman who was driving the pickup was arrested on suspicion of negligent homicide.

(7News) — Police say the pedestrian that was struck and killed on Route 28 in Chantilly early Monday morning was standing outside of his disabled vehicle when a truck driver drifted to the right and hit him. On Thursday, Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) detectives determined that the driver of a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia 125 was traveling northbound on Sully Road in the far-right lane. The pedestrian, Amin Emad-Eldin Hammoud was standing outside his disabled vehicle on the right shoulder when the driver of the Freightliner drifted to the right, crossed the solid white line, and struck him, according to police.

A car crashed into a man on the side of I-95 as he refueled his vehicle over the weekend, causing him serious injuries to his leg, authorities said. Police and rescue crews were called to an area near southbound Exit 38 around 6:20 on Sunday, Dec. 23. A man pulled his car into the breakdown lane and was refilling it with gas when a silver SUV, possibly a GMC Acadia or Chevrolet Traverse, crashed into him and sped away, authorities said.
