Woman dead after two vehicles collide with disabled vehicle on Mass. highway
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A 28-year-old New Bedford, Massachusetts, woman died Friday in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 140, the Bristol County District Attorney’s office said. The multi-vehicle crash happened on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 4 around 5:10 p.m. According to the DA’s office, Julia Luiz was driving a Toyota Camry when it apparently became disabled in the left lane. Investigators said Luiz was outside of her vehicle in the roadway when a 63-year-old New Bedford man driving a Toyota Rav4 struck Luiz’s disabled vehicle.

A Florida woman was hit by a car just after she fatally struck a man with her vehicle Wednesday night. A 58-year-old man was attempting to cross St. Petersburg’s Gandy Boulevard at around 10:30 p.m. when a 23-year-old driver hit him, authorities told local station WFLA. The woman got out of her vehicle to care for the man, but she was struck by a different motorist, also age 23, who was driving a Kia Optima.

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Jeep SUV passenger died Thursday evening when the vehicle rear-ended a disabled log truck on Highway 38 in Dillon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 6:20 p.m. near Camp Road, SCHP Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said. The driver of the 2020 Jeep SUV was injured and taken to McLeod hospital in Dillon. The driver of the 2006 Freightliner truck was not hurt.

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A wreck blocked several lanes on I-20 Thursday morning, according to authorities. The South Carolina Highway Patrol officers said officers arrived at 9:20 a.m. to an accident involving a pickup and a car on I-20 eastbound three miles east of exit 11. A 2023 Toyota Tacoma traveled off the road and struck a 2009 Toyota Camry that was disabled on the right shoulder, officials say. According to the South Carolina transportation traffic map, all lanes were reopened and the scene was cleared as of 10 a.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) -The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman fatally struck by a vehicle on Christmas night near Goose Creek. Danubia Sevilla, 33, was pronounced dead on the scene when first responders arrived. According to the coroner’s office, Sevilla and a child were standing beside a disabled vehicle when they were hit by a 2007 Chevrolet pick-up around 6:50 p.m. Monday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) said the incident happened on Howe Hall Road near Addison Drive.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 435 at Eastwood Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri, left one person dead Wednesday afternoon, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department. KCPD received the call around 1:32 p.m. for the crash, which involved a semi truck with a trailer and a pick-up truck. Investigation efforts found a Mack semi was stopped in the “#2” lane of northbound I-435 due to a mechanical issue, according to a spokesperson with KCPD.

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A good Samaritan is recovering after being hit by a vehicle while assisting the drivers involved in an earlier crash in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, police said. The Ann Arbor Police Department said officers and first responders were called out to the intersection of Washtenaw Ave. and Pittsfield Blvd. around 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26th on reports of a T-bone crash. According to an investigation, officers said a 30-year-old man behind the wheel of a sedan did not yield at a flashing red signal and pulled out in front of a westbound car.

A man who had been trapped in his crashed truck for several days was rescued after fishermen found the wreck under an I-94 overpass Tuesday. Indiana State Police said two fishermen - Nivardo Delatorre of Portage and his father-in-law Mario Garcia of Hobart, were walking along Salt Creek about one mile east of the Portage exit when they saw a crashed car under the bridge, hidden from plain view, under an overpass under I-94 between US 20 and State Road 249.

A 2019 Nissan Kicks driven by Aldo Jose Abello, 37, of Charlottesville, Va., struck a deer while traveling in the left lane of eastbound Interstate 64 at the 133.2 mile marker, disabling his vehicle in the left lane. Abello activated his the hazard lights, exited the vehicle, and stood on the roadside/ grassy median.
