BOWMAN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle while tending to a disabled vehicle on the side of I-95, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol. On Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 at mile marker 89, about 10 miles north of Bowman, the pedestrian was standing on the southbound shoulder with the broken down car, when a driver drove off the right side of the road, hitting the victim, authorities say.

Seriously Injured Good Samaritan Pedestrian Helps Identify Hit-And-Run Driver

According to a public information release from Officer Aaron Wilson of the Cobb County Police Department, the department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P. Unit) is investigating a hit-and-run accident in south Cobb. The incident resulted in serious injury to a Good Samaritan pedestrian, Keith D. Paine, 53, Austell, who was aiding a driver of a disabled vehicle when he was struck. The driver Paine was aiding also suffered severe injuries.

4 dead, 2 injured in chain-reaction crash on I-35W in Fort Worth

Police in Fort Worth said they are still investigating what led to a deadly crash involving five cars on Interstate 35W Monday night. Investigators said at about 9:09 p.m., two cars involved in a minor crash pulled over to the left shoulder. Police believe the two drivers got out to exchange information. Officer Daniel Segura, a spokesperson with the Fort Worth Police Department, said the truck driver also pulled over on the shoulder to help.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was hit and killed Monday night on University Boulevard while trying to help a dog that had been hit by a car and was lying in the street, police said. The crash was reported around 10:20 p.m. Monday on University Boulevard about half a mile south of Atlantic Boulevard in the Spring Glen area. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it appears the woman stopped her car in the center turn lane of University Boulevard to help the dog.

LAKE WALES, Fla. (WFLA) — Polk County deputies are searching for a driver who killed a man during a hit-and-run Monday morning. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said at about 6:11 a.m., a 15-year-old boy from Lake Wales and his 12-year-old sister were traveling in an SUV in the area of State Road 60 and County Road 630 in Lake Wales when they crashed with a pickup truck. Deputies said after the crash, a 34-year-old man from Melbourne, parked near the wreck and tried to help the victims.

HENRYVILLE, Ind. — An Indiana man is dead after a crash on I-65 North on Tuesday morning. Around 1:45 a.m., first responders responded to a three-vehicle crash on I-65 N near Henryville and found Matthew Shannon Campbell, 55, of Austin, Indiana dead at the scene. Investigators believe a white Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound on I-65 while pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with large A/C unites when one of the units fell off the trailer near the 21-mile marker.

A woman behind the wheel of a Honda Civic was killed in a two-vehicle crash with a big rig on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Palmdale, authorities said Tuesday. The woman, a resident of Littlerock, was driving a 2008 Honda Civic southbound, south of 10th Street West, where her car struck the right side guardrail and became disabled within the number three lane of traffic. It was then struck by a southbound 2016 International big rig, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monique Mischeaux.

At least 24 vehicles involved in collision on I-30 in Dallas, officials say

DALLAS — All eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 at Ferguson Road were closed following a multi-car collision that left vehicles scattered across two separate, nearby stretches of highway on Saturday morning. The multi-vehicle collision involved at least 24 combined vehicles, officials with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DSCO) said. Five people involved in the collisions were transported to local hospitals for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. Shortly after noon, all lanes were reopened to traffic.
