Woman killed in chain-reaction accident involving deer in Boone County
DANVILLE, WV (WOWK) — A woman is dead following a chain-reaction crash involving a deer Monday night, according to Boone County Sheriff Chad Barker. It happened around 8:15 p.m. in Danville near Hopkins Road and the intersection of Corridor G. Sheriff Chad Barker tells Nexstar’s WOWK that the driver hit a deer and her vehicle was stopped on the road. During that time, another driver hit her car; she got out of the car to assess the damage and that is when she was hit by another vehicle.

INDIANAPOLIS — A truck driver was hit and killed on 465 westbound Monday. ISP Sgt said the accident happened near the off-ramp from Allisonville Road. State Police Sergeant John Perrine says a semi, lost a wheel, leading to a subsequent car hitting the wheel, which became trapped underneath. “A semi had lost a wheel; the entire front came off and was in the travel lane,” said Perrine. “That semi pulled into the gore point of the ramp, between the main line and the ramp, out of the roadway.

A person standing outside a vehicle following a crash on state Highway 13 in Oakland Sunday night was struck and killed by another vehicle, which then fled the scene, authorities said Monday. The California Highway Patrol said dispatchers received a call at 10:46 p.m. Sunday about a non-injury crash involving two vehicles on southbound Highway 13 south of Joaquin Miller Road/Lincoln Avenue. The crash involved a white Toyota “Zip Car” rental and a black sedan.

CASS LAKE — A 66-year-old Henderson, Nevada, man was injured Saturday, Nov. 18, after his vehicle struck a deer on Highway 2 in Cass County. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash, reported at 5:59 p.m. near Cass Lake. According to the crash report, a 2023 Nissan Sentra was eastbound on the highway when it hit a deer and then collided with a 2017 Nissan Titan. A 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, also traveling east on the highway, swerved to avoid the Nissan Sentra, which was disabled in the lanes, and collided with a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado parked off the roadway assisting with the initial crash.

WELTON, Iowa — One woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Clinton County on Friday night. On Nov. 17 shortly before 5:30 p.m., deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 1600 block of Highway 61, north of Welton, after receiving reports of a crash. Law enforcement officials said that one vehicle was driving southbound and hit a deer, stopping the vehicle. The driver exited their car as a result of the accident.

A 22-year-old Massachusetts woman died after a truck crashed onto her car in a pile-up on the Massachusetts Turnpike Wednesday night, state police said in an update Friday. Citronelle Police Chief Chris McLean told Fox 10 a driver was speeding down Russell Road toward Highway 45 when they veered off the roadway at more than 100 m.p.h. and crashed into the woods. McLean told the station police do not believe there were any witnesses to the crash and believe the wreck occurred days ago.
