Passenger in sleeper cab of tractor-trailer killed in chain reaction crash on I-65 ramp in southern Indiana
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – One person died in a crash early Wednesday involving four tractor-trailers on the Interstate 65 southbound off-ramp to Memphis Blue Lick Road in southern Indiana. It happened just before 5:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Indiana State Police post in Sellersburg. A 911 caller reported a semi truck had rear-ended another semi on the ramp. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the driver of a 2017 Volvo semi-truck trapped in the cab of the tractor.

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — One man is dead in a late night Elkhart County crash. Police say 44-year-old Mahlon Coblentz of Kentucky was outside his vehicle shortly after 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, trying to get traffic to stop for a crash involving a different car at the State Road 13 bridge over the Toll Road. The initial crash was a single car crash blocking both lanes of State Road 13.

MATTESON, Ill. (CBS) – Anyone heading out this snowy Halloween night was advised to take it slow – with cars sliding around on icy roads. In south suburban Matteson, the road conditions led to two separate pileup accidents in south suburban Matteson. Altogether, tow trucks hauled away close to 15 vehicles. Earl Stoxsell rushed down to the site of one of the pileups on Vollmer Road after his wife called. The ice on the road left car after car sliding off.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A man was killed and two other people injured after a semi crashed into a disabled vehicle Sunday night on Interstate 70 eastbound in Wheat Ridge, according to police. The crash on I-70 happened west of Wadsworth Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said a vehicle was towing another vehicle with a tow strap, and the strap broke, stranding the disabled vehicle in the center lane.

San Antonio, Texas (October 31, 2023) – A person was struck and killed by a truck Saturday morning in San Antonio, according to the police. The deadly accident happened around 6:30 a.m., October 28, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Camp Bullis Road. Police said a Toyota pickup was towing another Toyota pickup and had stopped in the right main lane of the highway due to a flat. There was no shoulder lane in the area, and the road was dark as the street lights were off.

Illinois State Police say two pedestrians were killed when walking on US 50 near Big Four Road in Clay County early Sunday night. The preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling eastbound struck two pedestrians walking in the roadway after their vehicle became disabled in the westbound lane. Both pedestrians were pronounced deceased on the scene by the Clay County Coroner. The driver of the vehicle, along with two passengers, reported no injuries on the scene.

PHELPS, MO, (October 29, 2023) - Adow G. Hassen was injured in a semi-truck accident on Sunday on Interstate 44 in Phelps County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), Hassen was a passenger in a Kenworth tractor-trailer that went off the left side of the highway at about 7:48 a.m. and collided with another big rig that had been left in the median from an earlier crash. Hassan, 25, was taken to Phelps Health for treatment of his injuries.

A teen driver died early Friday after crashing his car along Interstate 95 in north Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Shortly after 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to investigate the crash in the area of mile marker 273 near Ormond Beach. At the scene, they determined that a man driving northbound in a Kia Forte traveled off of the interstate, where the car struck a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the road.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point Police Department said it is investigating a crash that left one person with life-threatening injuries. Police said they responded to Jamestown Parkway near North Scientific Street around 1:07 a.m. on Friday, for a report of a crash with injuries. At the scene, investigators said one car had a mechanical issue and was stopped partially in the Eastbound travel lane. They said the driver got out of the vehicle and was standing in the road.

DAVIE, FLA. (WSVN) - A hit-and-run incident on Interstate 595 claimed the life of one person Thursday night. The crash occurred just east of Nob Hill Road in Davie around 10:45 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the victim was struck while changing a tire. The incident led to the temporary closure of all lanes on the interstate, but they have since been reopened. Authorities now need the public’s help for any information that could assist in their investigation.
