3 dead, dozens injured as tour bus carrying about 50 people crashes on Pennsylvania highway2
Three people are dead and dozens suffered minor to severe injuries during a Sunday night bus crash along a Pennsylvania interstate, state police said. The two-vehicle crash took place just before 11:50 p.m. ET on Interstate 81 in Dauphin County’s Lower Paxton Township, near the state capital of Harrisburg. The wreck involved a 2005 tour bus carrying about 50 people and a 2016 Honda CRV, Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement online.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a chain-reaction crash that injured a driver outside his vehicle. On Monday, the crash at 3:45 a.m. happened on I-44, about eight miles west of Springfield. Investigators say Michael Harris was driving westbound on I-44 when he hit a construction barrier. His vehicle came to a stop, blocking both lanes. Another vehicle hit Harris when he got out of the vehicle.

A 46-year-old man who stopped with car trouble on the side of the H-1 freeway died Monday after another car rear-ended his vehicle, pushing it forward and striking him as he was investigating the problem. Honolulu police said the fatal collision occurred on the shoulder of the H-1 freeway eastbound near the Kaimakani Street overpass in the Aiea area. According to police, the 46-year-old male had gotten out of his vehicle and was attempting to address the mechanical issue when a 56-year-old female motorist traveling eastbound on the H-1 freeway drifted into the eastbound shoulder and into the stalled car.

HAYWARD — A 27-year-old Newark man died Sunday night on Interstate 880 when the car he was driving crashed into a wall and center divider as he tried to avoid a disabled vehicle on the freeway, the California Highway Patrol said Monday. The name of the man killed was not immediately released. The CHP said the fatal crash happened about 9:21 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-880 south of Whipple Road.

ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said two people are dead following a crash involving two tractor trailers that caused traffic back up for hours Sunday morning. According to the coroner, the crash happened at around 2 a.m. on I-85 northbound near mile marker 22. The coroner said the driver of a tractor-trailer was traveling north on I-85 when they hit the backend of another tractor trailer that was experiencing mechanical issues causing a crash.

On Thursday, troopers responded to multiple crashes in Augusta County, and though there were several injuries, none of them appeared to be life-threatening. The first crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. and in total, there were 12 separate crashes in the area of the interchange between interstates 64 and 81. That first crash was in the northbound lanes of 81 at the 228 mile marker.

A Tracy man who was standing next to his car after an initial crash died after an approaching semi-truck struck him and his sedan on Interstate 580 in unincorporated Livermore on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The situation began unfolding at about 6:45 a.m. when a gray 2007 Toyota Corolla traveling on I-580 eastbound in the No. 5 lane drifted to the right and crashed against the yellow attenuator barrels on the right shoulder east of Greenville Road in Livermore, according to CHP Officer Tyler Hahn.

MONROE COUNTY, Illinois — The driver of a passenger car died early Monday morning when the car crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer along Interstate 255 in Monroe County. Illinois State Police said the crash happened at about 2:20 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of I-255 near milepost 5.5. ISP said the tractor-trailer was parked on the right shoulder when the car struck it from behind. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

In the early morning of Wednesday, July 12, a Greyhound bus traveling west on I-70 struck three tractor trailers parked on the offramp near the Silver Lake rest area in Highland, Illinois. The crash tragically killed three passengers on the Greyhound and injured 14 more. None of the three truck occupants were injured. That same day, a team from the National Transportation Safety Board arrived to investigate the crash, but to many in trucking, the story sounds all too familiar.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man was arrested after investigators say he fled from the scene of a hit-and-run that killed a 66-year-old man in West Palm Beach. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the crash occurred on Saturday at 2:58 a.m. The victim was standing on the outside paved shoulder of northbound I-95, just north of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. Investigators say the victim’s car became disabled and he was waiting for assistance on the side of the road.
