2 dead in Marshall County crash after passersby stopped to help disabled vehicle
MARSHALL COUNTY, Iowa — Two people died in a multi-vehicle crash southwest of Melbourne Monday afternoon after an SUV became disabled on the roadway. The crash happened around 3:51 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 330, according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol. A Lincoln Nautilus ran out of gas in the right lane at the 11 mile marker and passersby were trying to push the vehicle off the road when a northbound Hyundai Elantra struck the driver of the SUV and two of the people trying to help.

A Crowley woman was killed after a broken-down vehicle was struck from behind in Acadia Parish on Sunday night. The crash happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on La. 367 near Max Road. Kentaysia J. Wildridge, 21, of Crowley, and another passenger were standing near the disabled Ford Fusion when the crash happened. The Ford Fusion was stopped in the northbound lane and had emergency flashers activated, Louisiana State Police Trooper Thomas Gossen said in a statement.

Provincial police closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Bloomfield Road in Chatham-Ken most of Tuesday after a collision and a rollover involving three transport trucks. On Tuesday at around 2:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Constable Brett Phair gave an update on the situation and said a transport truck tried to avoid a crash as traffic was trying to avoid a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 401 at mile marker 87 and rolled over on to the centre median.

SEWARD COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 12:30p.m. Tuesday in Seward County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Honda Civic driven by Francisco Pascual Vicente, 55, Salina, was was southbound on U.S. 83 just north of County Road 9. The car rear-ended a 2013 Honda Civic driven by Angelica Chavez, 21, Liberal, who was stopped, waiting for the pilot car. EMS transported Chavez to Southwest Medical Center.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early Saturday morning along Sam Rayburn Tollway near Denton Tap Road in Lewisville. At 12:25 am, Lewisville Fire/EMS and DPS Troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash involving two pedestrians. Investigators say a passenger vehicle had become disabled after hitting the center barrier. The vehicle was stopped partially in the inside lane with both occupants outside of the vehicle.

LEHI, Utah (KUTV) — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Timpanogos Highway in Lehi. According to Sgt. Bart Kirkham with Lehi police, the crash happened a short time after 11 a.m. on Monday near 1100 West. Officers said a Burgundy Acura MDX and a flatbed commercial motor vehicle were involved in the crash while traveling eastbound. They said the truck had blown out a front tire and stopped on the shoulder before the Acura hit it from behind.

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – Three people were killed in a wreck after a car stopped in the center lane of Interstate 95 in Hanover County early Saturday morning, according to Virginia State Police. Troopers said the crash happened around 2:10 a.m. along I-95 south about a mile from the Lewistown Road exit. A Nissan Sentra with a Maryland registration that was stopped in the center lane of I-95 for “unknown reasons” was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram pick-up, officials said.

FARIBAULT, Minn. (FOX 9) - Six vehicles were involved in a wreck along I-35 in Faribault that shut down the highway for a brief period Sunday afternoon. Troopers responded around 12:20 p.m. for the crash. Officers say all six vehicles were headed north along the highway when there was a collision between a semi and a Chevy Suburban, which caused a chain-reaction crash. Minnesota State Patrol reports there were injuries from the crash, but no one was killed.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 26-year-old driver died Sunday morning after crashing into an unoccupied disabled vehicle on Interstate 95 near the Bowden Road exit, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP said around 10 a.m., the driver of a sedan was traveling north on I-95 when he made an abrupt lane change toward the Bowden Road exit and lost control of the vehicle. The driver traveled across the ramp and onto the shoulder then collided with the disabled sports utility vehicle that was parked on the shoulder, FHP said.

HANCOCK COUNTY – Officials from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department said at least one person is dead following a late night crash involving multiple trucks on Interstate-70 Friday night. First responders were called around 10:40 p.m. Aug. 18 with reports of a car having a flat tire on the interstate. Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a minor crash at the 98mm of westbound I-70 and noted the accident was caused as the result of a vehicle with the flat tire stopped in the right lane.
