Two Injured when Garbage Truck Hits Disabled Big Rig on I-10 in Jacksonville, FL
Jacksonville, FL — June 17, 2022, two people were hospitalized when a garbage truck and a disabled semi-truck collided on Interstate 10 in Jacksonville. According to reports the incident happened Friday along I-10 near Chaffee Road. Preliminary investigation suggests a semi-truck was disabled and stopped on the right shoulder of the interstate. Shortly afterward a garbage truck approached on the highway, then veered onto the shoulder for unknown reasons and hit the big rig.

SAN FRANCISCO — A man was killed and four other people were injured when the car they were in was rear-ended by a pickup on the Bay Bridge early Sunday, authorities in San Francisco said. The gray Infiniti was traveling westbound around 3 a.m. when it stopped in lanes “possibly due to a mechanical failure,” according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Andrews. Moments later, a white pickup truck crashed into the Infiniti, Andrews said.

A driver died in hospital Sunday after ending up in a ditch on Route 343 in Joliette, 50 kilometres north of Montreal. A passerby alerted 911 at about 10:20 a.m. to the presence of a vehicle in a ditch between Albert-Geoffroy St. and Rang de la Petite Noraie; it had been there for some time, said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Beatrice Dorsainville. The driver was brought to a hospital in critical condition but later died of his injuries.

Authorities say Eric Greenley, 38, of Weaverville, was stopped on the shoulder of eastbound Highway 299 waiting to merge into traffic when he was struck by a passing car driven by Kenneth Dale, 56, of Cottonwood.

At 4:07 p.m. Friday, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a multiple-vehicle crash with injuries in the area of U.S. 12 and Burr Oak Road in Burr Oak Township. The investigation showed that a 16-year-old driver and a 17-year-old passenger were driving westbound in a Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a Buick Encore driven by Nayeli Delapaz-Arroyo, 20.

One tractor-trailer hit another on Interstate 95 South in Norwalk early Saturday morning, rupturing a tank and causing a fuel spill, and sending vegetables onto the highway, according to the fire department. The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the highway, between exits 14 and 13, at 5 a.m. They said a tractor-trailer was in the breakdown lane, waiting to have a tire repaired when another tractor-trailer struck it. The crash ruptured the diesel saddle tank of the disabled truck and spilled the vegetables of the other truck across the highway, according to the fire department.

Lewisville, TX – May 24, 2022, Adrian Rominu and another person were injured due to an accident involving a tractor-trailer. Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 2:00 p.m. along I-35E near Business 121. Authorities said that 23-year-old Adrian Rominu was in a vehicle which became disabled along the side of the interstate. While outside the vehicle between it and the concrete barrier, a tractor-trailer reportedly going at unsafe speeds somehow hit the disabled vehicle, hitting Rominu in the process.

A man is dead Friday after he was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 in Frederick, Maryland, after he got out of his vehicle because he hit a deer on the highway. Maryland State Police said Jordan Scott Maddocks, 33, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, was struck by a tractor-trailer on westbound I-70 around 3 a.m. He apparently got out of his vehicle after striking a deer before the MD Route 17 exit for Myersville.

A young man dealing with a flat tyre watched in horror as his father, who was assisting him in changing it, was struck and murdered by a passing vehicle. On Friday morning, just before 8.30 a.m., the 55-year-old father was helping his son replace a tyre on the Princes Highway in eastern Victoria, between the towns of Flynn and Rosedale. Another car was passing by while the two attempted to change the tyre when he hit the father, instantly killing him.
