OHP: Driver dies after crashing into school bus unloading children on Rogers County highway
ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. — Authorities say one person was killed in a crash involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon on a highway in northeastern Oklahoma. An Oklahoma Highway Patrol incident report states that crash happened on U.S. 169 at EW 370 Road in Rogers County. The crash caused the highway to be closed for about three hours. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the school bus was stopped on the outside lane of southbound U.

An 84-year-old man was killed late Tuesday in an apparent hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 south of Sperry Avenue in the Patterson area, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officials said officers responded about 11:10 p.m. to a report of a disabled motorist attempting to wave down vehicles along northbound I-5. When they arrived, they found an unoccupied Hyundai sedan parked on the right shoulder and the driver lying in the center median with injuries consistent with being struck by a passing vehicle.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested after he was suspected of being part of a hit-and-run that took place on Interstate 75 Monday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Kia Sorento was disabled and stopped on the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 131 around 9:00 p.m. When the driver attempted to get out of the vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup truck hit the Kia driver’s door and then left the scene.

For the 10th time this year, an Illinois State Police squad car was struck while investigating an accident. The accident, according to an ISP report, occurred on Interstate 55 at milepost 217 in Livingston County. The exit is located on the west side of Dwight. The crash occurred about 2:45 a.m., as an ISP trooper was parked in the right lane of I-55 southbound behind a disabled vehicle involved in a previous crash.

CLEVELAND — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after two fatal crashes took place on the Ohio Turnpike in Erie County within an hour of each other Sunday morning — with the second accident coming during traffic backup from the first. At 6:41 a.m., an eastbound International 4300 box truck driven by a 31-year-old Indiana man drove off the roadway and hit a tow truck that was stopped on the shoulder with emergency lights flashing, troopers said in a press release.

A Somerset man was seriously injured in a crash involving a disabled car on I-287 early Sunday, Aug. 31, New Jersey State Police said. Troopers responded at 3:41 a.m. to the southbound lanes near milepost 34.5 in Morris Township, according to Sgt. Charles Marchan. A preliminary investigation found that a Toyota passenger car driven by a 49-year-old Somerset man left the roadway to the right, struck an arrow board, re-entered traffic, and became disabled, Marchan said.

Riverview, FL (August 28, 2025) – A 27-year-old woman lost her life early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while standing outside her disabled car along the southbound side of Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County. The fatal incident occurred just north of Big Bend Road in Riverview and brought southbound traffic to a standstill for several hours. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened around 12:30 AM when the woman, a Riverview resident, exited her Nissan Altima, which had become disabled along the highway.

OHIO — Four people were taken to the hospital late Tuesday night after a three-car crash involving an Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) cruiser on U.S. 35. The crash happened around 10:24 p.m. when a trooper from the Xenia Post had stopped a vehicle in the left lane of U.S. 35 east, between N. Fairfield and Factory Roads, according to OSHP. Just minutes later, a third vehicle struck the back of the cruiser, pushing it into the stopped car.

CASSIA COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) — A 22-year-old Rupert man was killed this morning after he was struck by a semi-truck on I-84 near milepost 234.7, in Cassia County. The semi vs pedestrian crash happened at around 3:35 a.m. According to the Idaho State Police (ISP), the man was driving a 1999 Chrysler 300 westbound on the eastbound shoulder of the interstate. After his vehicle crashed, he reportedly exited and stood in the eastbound lanes of travel.
