Couple killed in chain-reaction freeway crash in La Mesa
A 79-year-old man and his 77-year-old wife died Monday night after the Toyota sedan he was driving stopped on Interstate 8 in La Mesa and was hit in a multi-vehicle crash, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office. James Allina and Rosalyn Allina, of La Mesa, were driving east on the freeway when, for unknown reasons, their car became stationary with its lights off in the third lane near Fletcher Parkway, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Two months since a Jacksonville woman died after her car broke down on the Mathews Bridge, another suffered a similar fate. Sunday at about 5 a.m. a 39-year-old Jacksonville woman’s SUV became disabled on the center concrete barrier facing westbound on the bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A woman also westbound in her car then struck the SUV, killing the 39-year-old. The car’s 33-year-old driver, also from Jacksonville, had minor injuries.

ANSONIA, Conn. (WFSB) - Part of Route 8 was closed after a 20-year-old was hit by a pickup truck on Friday night. According to state police, Jaiden Andreiz Ragsdale, age 20, was stopped in the left lane for an unknown reason. Police suspected that Ragsdale was standing next to his car. At the same time, a truck collided with the stopped car. Police said Ragsdale was brought to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

Langhorne Manor, PA (February 8, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Thursday morning left one driver injured and caused significant disruptions on Route 1 northbound in Langhorne Manor Borough. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred around 6 a.m. near Hulmeville Ave amid icy road conditions. Authorities reported that a 22-year-old woman from Trevose, driving a Honda CRV, lost control of her vehicle due to the slick roadway and struck a guide rail.

MILFORD, CT — A man was seriously injured early Saturday morning in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 in Milford. According to Connecticut State Police, the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. on southbound I-95 near exit 34. Police said a white Hyundai Genesis was traveling in the right lane when it veered into the right shoulder, striking a 61-year-old Killingworth man who was assisting a disabled tractor-trailer. The man was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. — A 47-year-old woman from St. Robert was killed in a crash involving three vehicles on I-44 overnight on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says that just after 2:00 a.m., a 2014 Ford Escape struck a guardrail while traveling west on I-44 near mile marker 167. A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado then rear-ended the Ford Escape and a third vehicle, a 2025 Kenworth semi-truck, hit the front of the Ford Escape and the guardrail.

Three people inside a pickup truck were killed when it was hit by a tractor-trailer while stopped in lanes of the eastbound 91 Freeway in Buena Park on Friday morning, Feb. 7, authorities said. California Highway Patrol officers began receiving calls about the crash just before 4 a.m., just east of Valley View Street, CHP spokesman Officer Duane Graham said. All three people inside the pickup truck were believed to be in their 20s and 30s, Graham said.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A multi-vehicle collision last week on westbound Interstate 8 near San Diego State University resulted in the death of a man. Tobin Alan Armstrong, 43, was identified as the deceased, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said on its website. On the morning of Jan. 26, a pickup truck stalled on the left shoulder of westbound I-8, located just east of the Waring Road off-ramp.

TWIN BRIDGES — A man was hit by a car while he was putting chains on his own vehicle’s tires on Highway 50 in El Dorado County, officials said Friday. The California Highway Patrol’s South Lake Tahoe division said it happened along a curve on the eastbound side of the highway in the Twin Bridges area near Slippery Ford Road. A man had parked his silver Nissan Rogue on the shoulder and was putting chains on the left rear tire when he was hit by a red Subaru Impreza, the CHP said.
