Multi-vehicle accident shuts down I-75 northbound earlier Wednesday
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A multiple-vehicle crash brought traffic to a standstill earlier today on I-75. Northbound I-75 between 309 and Reservoir Road closed due to crash involving multiple semis Wednesday morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Bath Township Fire Department and EMS responded to multiple vehicle accidents that shut down the Interstate 75 going northbound. One accident involved three semis, causing two to leak fuel, and one to catch fire.

WICHITA, Kan. (WIBW) - The passenger of a vehicle that was rear-ended on a Kansas highway near Wichita has been hospitalized with serious injuries. The Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log indicates that around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, emergency crews were called to the area of mile marker 231 on eastbound Highway 54 with reports of a 2-vehicle crash. When officials arrived, they said they found a 2023 Nissan Sentra driven by Timothy McBride, 61, of Augusta, had started to slow down on the highway with its hazard lights on.

A Vancouver woman died at a hospital after the car she was riding in rear-ended a stopped SUV on April 20 on state Highway 14. ESCONDIDO, CA (April 25, 2023) – An Escondido off-duty police officer was hit by a car on 15 Freeway Sunday morning on April 23. The officer was on his way to work when the CHP was notified of a hit-and-run at 10:27 a.m. near Deer Springs Road. Traffic on the freeway had slowed because of a stalled vehicle on the shoulder. The officer got out of his vehicle to help direct traffic, the Escondido Police Department said.

It happened around 11:45 p.m. on I-10 East near Uvalde, when an unidentified man’s truck was disabled while in the fourth lane. The driver stayed inside the truck, authorities said, while waiting for assistance, when he was hit by another truck. Responding officers rushed the man to a hospital while performing CPR, but investigators do not believe he will survive the injuries. The driver, on the other hand, did not suffer any injuries but remained at the scene, and we’re told is cooperating with officers.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A missing woman’s rental car and a body were found in a pond near Palm Coast on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office. Law enforcement responded to the area of Matanzas Woods and Palm Harbor parkways on Monday. Deputies said they found the car in the nearby pond that is believed to have been driven by Erica Bergeron, 49, who was previously reported missing. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were able to remove the car and a 49-year-old Jacksonville woman from the pond, though her identity has not yet been confirmed.

New York State Police said two people were killed Sunday when a vehicle struck a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 86 in Big Flats. Horseheads-based troopers said the crash occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. between exits 49 and 50. According to crash investigators, a westbound vehicle driven by Eduard Edelshteyn, 76, of Brooklyn, N.Y. crossed two lanes of traffic before striking a disabled tractor-trailer that was parked off the roadway on the north shoulder.

A hit-and-run crash Thursday night on Interstate 75 in a new construction zone that has been the source of multiple crashes and backups this week led to the death of 20-year-old Emily Ryan of Franklin, according to Moraine police. The incident took place around 12:15 a.m. just north of the Dryden Road exit ramp in the southbound lanes, near the ongoing I-75 construction project. HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – A truck driver was killed when a car crashed into him as he loaded equipment onto an 18-wheeler on North I-45 near FM 1960 Thursday morning. The crash happened at about 9:14 a.m., according to Harris County Sheriff’s Office Captain Anthony McConnell. The truck parked on the feeder road as the driver worked to load equipment from Public Storage when McConnell said another vehicle, headed north, drove up onto and off the trailer, striking the driver standing next to the truck.
