Erick Mejia arrested in fatal Arapahoe County hit-and-run accident
ARAPAHOE, CO, (December 28, 2022) - A 55-year-old man was tragically struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident involving a semi-truck on Dec. 28 in Arapahoe County. According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified victim was standing next to a passenger van at about 11:30 a.m. on Digicomm Drive in the Dove Valley area when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer driven by 31-year-old Erick Mejia. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

LOUISIANA (KLFY) Two people died Thursday morning when their vehicle rear-ended a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of Hwy. 190 in Pointe Coupee Parish. Police have identified the victims as mother and daughter, Barbara Dobard Rigby, 69 and Maynette Dobard, 98 of Alexandria. According to State Police, the preliminary investigation has revealed that Rigby was driving an SUV headed east on US 190 near La. 978 when her vehicle exited the roadway to the right and struck the rear end of a tractor-trailer that had its emergency flashers on.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne Police say a person pushing a car was struck by another vehicle on Ludwig Road Thursday night. He was taken to a hospital where he was listed with life threatening injuries. Just before 8 p.m., officers found a man lying near the road in the 2200 block of Ludwig. Paramedics arrived to provide medical attention. Witnesses on the scene stated that four men were attempting to push a disabled vehicle westbound on Ludwig in the roadway; three pushing the vehicle in the rear and one pushing near the driver’s door.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Billy Joe Thompson, of Franklin, was operating a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck along SR 122 when the vehicle became disabled around 8:30 p.m. Subsequently, the 29-year-old driver of a Chevrolet P-Series stopped and attempted to assist Thompson push the disabled vehicle out of the roadway when a 2020 BMW X5 hit the Ford, Thompson, and the Chevrolet.

Troopers said a 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight had been traveling north on Garden Valley Rd when it crossed the center line, ran off the road to the left, struck a bridge railing, overturned and became submerged in the river.
