Deer on roadway leads to rear-end collision, injuring 2
PIERZ — Two people were injured Sunday, Oct. 9, in a two-vehicle rear-end collision on Lake Road in Morrison County. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 7:13 p.m. in Agram Township, southwest of Pierz. According to the crash report, two vehicles were traveling southbound on Lake Road when the front vehicle stopped for deer crossing the road and was rear-ended by the second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, Cody Hermanson, 24, of Sartell, and a passenger in the front vehicle, Heather Olson, 24, of Bemidji, suffered minor injuries and were transported by personal vehicle to the hospital.

The driver and a passenger fled the scene of car crash that killed two teenage girls on the Monaro Highway in Canberra’s south on Sunday morning. ACT police say a Toyota sedan left the highway and crashed through a row of temporary fencing before hitting a tree near Lanyon Drive at Hume. A passer-by found the wreck and alerted emergency services who found two girls, aged 14 and 15, dead in the car about 8:10am.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Three crashes on Interstate 95 between State Roads 16 and 207 led to a massive back-up Friday morning, according to Florida 511. Two of those crashes were cleared by 4:45 a.m. The third had all southbound lanes of I-95 closed. The impact led to a backup that reached as long as seven miles. As of 11 a.m. — all lanes had reopened. News4JAX learned the crash occurred after a semi-truck failed to slow down as it approached another crash.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-5 at the Lakeway Drive interchange about 9pm on Thursday, October 6th, due to reports of a multivehicle crash. According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a yet-to-be-identified vehicle and a 2021 Honda FXBBS motorcycle were northbound on I-5 south of Lakeway Drive when they collided. The 45-year-old motorcycle rider from Ferndale was ejected and ended up on the right lane.

CINCINNATI — A 43-year-old woman died Friday after she was hit by two vehicles on northbound I-275 in Clermont County, police said. The accident occurred around 6:27 a.m. along I-275 near Beechmont Avenue, officials said. Police on scene said the woman’s vehicle had stalled out in the middle of the interstate for an unknown reason. Police said she put on her hazards lights and got out of the vehicle. Shortly after, police said a GMC Van hit her and her vehicle.

PHOENIX — A man is dead after he was hit by a truck while on the side of Interstate 17 Friday morning. Around 8 a.m. Friday, a semi-truck driver pulled off from the northbound lanes of I-17 north of the Happy Valley Road exit. The driver was securing his load on the right side of the road when a passing pickup truck struck him, Arizona DPS said. The man died at the scene, officers said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A car fatally struck a 31-year-old man early Thursday as he was trying to change a tire on Interstate 805 in North Park. The San Diego resident was standing next to his disabled vehicle in the far right-hand southbound lane of the freeway north of Adams Avenue when the Toyota Camry hit him shortly after 3 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene, CHP public-affairs Officer Jesse Matias said.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police in Clayton County are searching for the hit-and-run driver that struck two people — a man and a woman — both trying to assist another driver whose car flipped over on I-75 northbound near Tara Blvd. last month. Authorities say the driver of that car plowed into the two Good Samaritans on September 18 just after 5 a.m. as they tried to assist a man who was pinned inside his car.

THOMPSON — Authorities are investigating after a woman was struck and killed Tuesday evening by a tractor-trailer on Interstate-395. State police said the commercial truck was heading south on the highway in the right lane when the driver saw two vehicles up ahead that were pulled over in the shoulder with their hazard lights activated. State police said 33-year-old Rebecca C Domas, of Woburn, Mass., had crashed a 2018 Subaru Impreza into about 150 feet of the wire guardrail and posts in the left shoulder.
