Driver Hits Abandoned Vehicle Parked on Shoulder of I-376 in Hopewell Twp
Story by Beaver County Radio Staff (Hopewell Township, Beaver County, Pa.) Pennsylvania State Police in Beaver are reporting that they were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident along Interstate 376 Eastbound in the area of Gringo-Clinton Road at about 5:00 PM last Thursday, October 13, 2022. Upon arriving and investigating it was learned that 28-year-old Ethan Peltz of Cadiz, Ohio was operating a 2019 Ford Eco Sport eastbound near the Allegheny and Beaver County Line when he failed to stay within the right lane and struck an unoccupied 2009 Nissan Maxima that was sitting on the right shoulder of the road.

Jerome, ID — October 17, 2022, one person died and two were injured in a multi-vehicle accident along U.S. Highway 93 near Jerome. Authorities say the incident happened around 6:25 a.m. along US-93 near mile marker 66. Preliminary investigation suggests a Honda Pilot was traveling south on the highway when the driver started to make a left turn at 750 N Road. As the Pilot started to turn a Honda CR-V crashed into it from behind.

MONROE COUNTY, Ind. – A person died on I-69 south of Bloomington after a Tuesday morning crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi truck. A witness said the car had hit a deer right before it happened. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to southbound I-69 near mile marker 111 just after 6:05 a.m. INDOT said the crash happened between That Road and IN 445. A witness told police they were heading south on I-69 and were in the fast lane next to another car after passing the semi.

TROY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has reported a deadly crash in Troy that claimed the life of a Killeen woman. Troopers have identified the victim as Sambria Shaley Canty. According to a report by DPS Sergeant Bryan Washko, Canty was traveling the wrong way down IH-35 in Troy when the accident occurred, driving north in the southbound lane. Canty reportedly crashed into a passenger van traveling south.

BONSALL, CA, (October 13, 2022) - An 18-year-old Baldwin Park resident sadly lost his life following a motor vehicle crash Thursday, Oct. 13, in Bonsall, the Medical Examiner’s Office reported. Eric Alonso was killed in the crash that authorities say happened on Interstate 15 at Old Highway 395 Overcrossing. According to preliminary findings, Alonso was a passenger of a vehicle traveling southbound on I-15 when, for undetermined reasons, the driver, an 18-year-old Los Angeles County resident, ran off the right side of the roadway and crashed into the rear of a semi-truck.

KELSO, WA, (October 16, 2022) - Two people were hospitalized after a collision involving four vehicles early Sunday morning in Kelso. The crash happened at around 1:20 a.m. near milepost 36 along northbound Interstate 5. According to the Washington State Patrol, Jeremy J. Burger, age 33, of Ferndale, was stopped in a 2001 Honda Civic, partially blocking the left lane. Three vehicles – a 2021 Tesla, a 2015 Dodge Dart, and a 2013 Toyota Prius – hit Berger’s or each other’s cars.

HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla. — A 60-year-old Lorida man was killed in a crash as he was assisting a disabled vehicle that was blocking the northbound travel lane on County Road 621. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened at approximately 7:43 PM on Oct. 12 in Highlands County. The Lorida man was traveling north on County Road 621 when he stopped along the lane, partially extending into the southbound lane, to assist a broken-down vehicle.

ISABELLA CO., Mich. (WNEM) - A man was killed, and a woman was injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles in Isabella County Monday morning. It happened shortly after 7 a.m. on northbound US-127 near Broomfield Road in Union Township. Deputies from the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office were originally responding to a car versus deer crash at that location. While they were on their way, the deputies were informed two other vehicles had collided at the scene, for a total of three vehicles involved in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX/Gray News) - Two teen girls were found dead Sunday in a crash along a highway in Mississippi after a Homecoming dance at their high school. The Jackson County Coroner said the two girls were identified as 16-year-old Baleigh Bowlin and 16–year-old Chloe Taylor. The girls attended East Central High School in Jackson County. WLOX reports the families of the girls had posted that they were missing Sunday morning after the dance on Saturday night.

Two men have died following a crash in which a car careered off a road in the Highlands. Officers were called to reports of a white Mazda RX8 found on the A836 at Torroble near Lairg, at around 3.20pm on Sunday. Emergency services attended and two men, aged 25 and 24, were pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed the car left the road some time before it was found and reported to police.
