Vehicle rear-ended on shoulder of US 54 near Tucumcari killing one
QUAY COUNTY, N.M. (KVII) — One man is dead after his vehicle was hit while on the side of the road but still partially in the lane of US Highway 54 in Quay County on Saturday morning. According to the New Mexico State Police, officers responded to the wreck at about 10 a.m. and it happened near mile marker 329 to the northeast of Tucumcari. The initial investigation determined a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Ervin Burton, Jr.

(WRIC) — A Virginia woman was killed, and several people were sent to the hospital Sunday after a “chain reaction-style crash” on Interstate 95 near Parham Road involving seven cars, police said. State police troopers found seven vehicles on I-95 north near the Parham Road exit in Henrico County involved in multiple crashes just before 3 a.m. on Oct. 30, police said Monday. According to state police, the “chain reaction-style crash” began when a Jeep ran off the road and hit a guardrail before spinning back onto the interstate.

EAST DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) — Georgia authorities on Saturday may have found the remains of a man missing a year. Laurens County Sheriff Larry Dean said a deer hunter late Friday found a vehicle registered to Don Hightower off a highway between East Dublin and Wrightsville. Deputies from Laurens and Johnson counties, as well as investigators from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and volunteers, began a grid search early Saturday, Dean said.

BATAVIA, Ohio — One person is seriously injured after a crash in Union Township early Saturday morning, Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Around 7:30 a.m., a 27-year-old man was driving a Hyundai Accent northbound on I-275 near Milford Parkway, and his vehicle became disabled in the roadway. OSHP said that Hyundai was then struck by a Chevrolet van operated by a 56-year-old man. When the Hyundai was struck, the vehicle traveled off the roadway striking a concrete median barrier.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – A passenger’s assault on a driver prompted a deadly crash that forced all inbound lanes of Highway 290 to shut down Friday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. The crash on Highway 290 at Mason Road was reported at about 5:20 a.m. in the Cypress area. Gonzalez said the crash happened on the inside lane after a passenger in one of the vehicles involved started assaulting the driver.

A man is dead and a woman is injured after getting into a car crash that went unnoticed for several hours in Waterbury, police said. Police said they received a report that a car crashed in a wooded area off the road in the area of North Main Street and Bucks Hill Road. The crash was discovered at about 9:20 a.m. Responding officers found a car with two passengers inside. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Waterbury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - For more than nine hours on Thursday, traffic was at a complete standstill in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Pasco County for a deadly crash investigation involving a pedestrian. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the road closed just north of the Interstate 275 apex after the crash happened just after 5 a.m. FHP said the unidentified pedestrian, a 41-year-old man from Tampa, was driving southbound with his 20-year-old son when his 2002 Ford Expedition became disabled near mile marker 274.

Oct. 27—The California Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car crash involving a 2022 Toyota that failed to negotiate a turn on Highway 58, west of Lokern Road, according to a CHP news release. Casey Wootten, 47, of Taft, was traveling west a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the highway and came to a rest about 300 feet from the edge of the road. PLAINVIEW, N.Y. (WCBS 880) – An 89-year-old man was killed Tuesday night when his SUV was rear-ended and burst into flames on the Long Island Expressway, Suffolk County police said. The victim was behind the wheel of a 1999 Ford Explorer stopped on the westbound HOV lane of the expressway, near exit 48 in Plainview, when his vehicle was struck around 11:30 p.m. A 2018 Kia Sportage headed westbound on the expressway crashed into the back of the Ford, which became engulfed in flames.
