Man struck, killed in hit-and-run while waiting for assistance with broken-down vehicle
BIRMINGHAM – A Birmingham man was killed Saturday, March 11, when a vehicle struck him at the 100 block of Roebuck Drive, Birmingham, while he was waiting for assistance with his disabled vehicle, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office announced. James Lee Brown Jr., 53, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:02 a.m. “The decedent was the driver and lone occupant of a disabled motor vehicle in the 100 block of Roebuck Drive,” Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said.

A three-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon at John Puryear Drive and Husband Road claimed the life of a Paducah woman. The crash occurred just before 12:30 Sunday off I-24 exit 11. McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies determined that a car and a pickup collided in the intersection. Then a secondary collision occurred when an SUV hit the car. The car’s driver, 86-year-old Wanda Hankins of Paducah, was taken to a local hospital.

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. - Interstate 65 was partially shut down Monday morning after a semitrailer carrying liquid sugar overturned in Jasper County, causing a secondary crash between multiple vehicles. About 6:43 a.m., Indiana State Police reported the semitrailer overturned in the southbound lanes between State Road 10 and State Road 14, according to a tweet from Sgt. Glen Fifield. Fifield said the accident sparked a second crash between three vehicles in the same vicinity as the semitrailer.

(KFGO) – Two people were killed and two others were hurt during a collision that involved three pickups and a car on highway 13 just west of I-29 in Richland County early Monday morning. The state patrol says the driver of a car got stuck in snow along the shoulder of the highway. The driver of a pickup stopped and was starting to attach a tow rope to the car when another pickup approached.

A man was found dead in a crashed vehicle Sunday in Shades Creek off Interstate 65 in Homewood. Homewood police responded to I-65 southbound just south of Lakeshore Parkway near an apartment complex just after 1:30 p.m. A passerby made the discovery and called 911. Officers found a wrecked vehicle with one man inside. Sgt. John Carr said it appears the vehicle left I-65 and ended up in the creek. It wasn’t immediately clear when the crash happened, but investigators believe it took place hours before the vehicle and the victim were discovered.

MOCLOVA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) - A man is seriously injured after a crash on the Ohio Turnpike Sunday. Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash in Lucas County around 6:30 a.m. The car was heading eastbound on Interstate Route 80 when it exited the left side of the road and hit a guardrail, stopping the vehicle, troopers said. The 20-year-old passenger from Cleveland Heights then exited the vehicle, leaving it stopped in the roadway, officials said.

On March 10, around 11:34 a.m. the driver of the tractor-trailer, Zion Redding of Indiana was parked on the right closed shoulder and was asleep. The driver of the other tractor-trailer, Ricky M. Batten, 59, of Norfolk was traveling eastbound on I-64 towards I-664 northbound when he ran off the road and hit the parked tractor-trailer from behind.

DENVER (KDVR) — Police are looking for a driver who was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that injured one person while they were pushing a van on the shoulder of Interstate 25. According to the Denver Police Department, the hit-and-run occurred on Feb. 12 at 10:55 p.m. on southbound I-25 at 20th Avenue. DPD said two people were pushing a van on the right shoulder of the highway when they were struck by an unknown driver in a silver Porsche.
