Motorcycle rider dies after hitting car disabled by another crash in which a motorist fled: DPS
ELSA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A fatal crash early Saturday morning north of Elsa left a motorcycle rider dead, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The motorcyclist, 68-year-old La Villa resident Gustavo Vasquez Cervantes, was pinned under his motorcycle after colliding with a vehicle that had been left disabled in the road following a collision moments earlier in which another driver fled the scene, DPS stated Saturday in a news release detailing the fatal chain of events.

(CBS DETROIT) - Michigan State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash that left one person dead on westbound Interstate 696 in Oakland County. Police say the driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling slowly in the right lane when the driver of a semi truck rear ended it with out any braking. The car was then pushed into the middle lane sideways with the passenger side facing oncoming traffic. Police say the vehicle was suddenly struck by another passenger vehicle, killing a 65-year-old woman from Rochester Hills.

Old Lyme ― State police said a man was taken to the hospital and died Saturday morning after his car was rear-ended on Interstate 95. Identified in a state police news release, Michael S. Sansur, 52, of Darien, was driving a Honda Accord EX with a passenger on I-95 northbound between Exits 70 and 71 and stopped in the left lane for an unknown reason. Around 7:24 a.m., Fernando A. Dixon, 26, of Oxford, was driving in a Kia Stinger GT behind Sansur when Dixon struck the rear of his car resulting in significant damage to both cars, said state police.

LIVONIA, Mich. (FOX 2) - Livonia Police said man died Friday morning on I-275 when he hit by a car as he tried to cross the freeway after getting a flat tire. According to a press release from Livonia Police, the man was hit and killed as he tried to walk across the northbound lanes of the freeway at 7 Mile in Livonia. Police said a little after 5 a.m., the man had gotten a flat tire and was on the left shoulder when he tried to cross the interstate.

Former “American Idol” runner-up Willie Spence died after a car accident Tuesday, authorities said. Spence, 23, finished as runner-up to Chayce Beckham in the show’s 19th season, which aired last year. The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday in Marion County in East Tennessee, when Spence’s 2019 Jeep Cherokee “left the roadway” and collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the shoulder of the east side of Interstate 24, at the 147-mile marker, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Marion County medical examiner said in a preliminary report.

After searching for more than two months, Selma and Fresno County law enforcement said Tuesday the body of Jolissa Fuentes has been found in rural Fresno County. Selma Police Chief Rudy Alcaraz in an update Tuesday said Fuentes’ car left the road northeast of Pine Flat Lake, where her body was found down a cliff, near Trimmer Springs and Maxon roads. The 22-year-old woman was last seen about 4 a.m. Aug 7.

PIERZ — Two people were injured Sunday, Oct. 9, in a two-vehicle rear-end collision on Lake Road in Morrison County. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 7:13 p.m. in Agram Township, southwest of Pierz. According to the crash report, two vehicles were traveling southbound on Lake Road when the front vehicle stopped for deer crossing the road and was rear-ended by the second vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, Cody Hermanson, 24, of Sartell, and a passenger in the front vehicle, Heather Olson, 24, of Bemidji, suffered minor injuries and were transported by personal vehicle to the hospital.

The driver and a passenger fled the scene of car crash that killed two teenage girls on the Monaro Highway in Canberra’s south on Sunday morning. ACT police say a Toyota sedan left the highway and crashed through a row of temporary fencing before hitting a tree near Lanyon Drive at Hume. A passer-by found the wreck and alerted emergency services who found two girls, aged 14 and 15, dead in the car about 8:10am.

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Three crashes on Interstate 95 between State Roads 16 and 207 led to a massive back-up Friday morning, according to Florida 511. Two of those crashes were cleared by 4:45 a.m. The third had all southbound lanes of I-95 closed. The impact led to a backup that reached as long as seven miles. As of 11 a.m. — all lanes had reopened. News4JAX learned the crash occurred after a semi-truck failed to slow down as it approached another crash.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the northbound lanes of I-5 at the Lakeway Drive interchange about 9pm on Thursday, October 6th, due to reports of a multivehicle crash. According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a yet-to-be-identified vehicle and a 2021 Honda FXBBS motorcycle were northbound on I-5 south of Lakeway Drive when they collided. The 45-year-old motorcycle rider from Ferndale was ejected and ended up on the right lane.
