HCSO: 1 person dead after crashing car into HART bus
BRANDON, Fla. — One person is dead after a crash involving a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus and a car Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies say a call came in around 6:44 a.m. about the crash on Hickory Lake Drive and South Kings Avenue. A spokesperson said the HART bus was stopped and picking up a person when a driver rear-ended it. One person was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

Bleckley County, GA — September 14, 2022, a truck driver died in a fiery crash with another 18-wheeler on the shoulder of Interstate 16 in Bleckley County. Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 5:15 a.m. on westbound I-16 near mile marker 32. Preliminary investigation suggests that a semi-truck was stopped on the shoulder due to having mechanical problems, and had emergency reflectors placed behind it. Another big rig approached from the east and failed to maintain its lane for unknown reasons; it drove onto the shoulder and crashed into the back of the parked truck.

Pleasant View, UT – September 13, 2022, a Boise man was injured due to an accident where a semi-truck hit his car on I-15. Investigators reported that the crash took place at around 1:30 a.m. along I-15. Weber County officials said the events began after a Toyota Corolla driven north by a Boise man somehow crashed into the median divider, then cam to a stop along the right side of the road.

A 46-year-old man died Thursday morning after crashing his SUV into a disabled car that was in the eastbound Interstate 84 median in Payette County. At about 7:55 a.m., the Fruitland man was heading east on I-84 in a Jeep Cherokee when his SUV sideswiped a Chevrolet Impala that was stationary at about milepost 16, according to an Idaho State Police news release. After hitting the Impala, the man’s Jeep overturned and came to rest in the westbound emergency lane, ISP said.

ATOKA COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Texas man. Around 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 14, emergency crews were called to a crash along U.S. Hwy 69, 13 miles north of Stringtown. Investigators say a 2020 Ram 3500 truck, driven by 35-year-old Jesus Zuniga, was heading southbound on Hwy 69. For an unknown reason, the truck left the roadway to the left, hit a cable barrier, and then entered the northbound lanes.

Investigators were called to the area of LBJ Freeway and Bruton Road at around 9:10 p.m. It appears that 61-year-old Larry Dean Fann was in a Chevy Cruze traveling southbound on the interstate. Ahead, it appears that an 18-wheeler was stationary due to mechanical issues. While there, Fann’s vehicle crashed into the back of the trailer.

Authorities say the incident happened around 8:35 a.m. along TX-7 near Farm ot Market Road 2608. Preliminary investigation suggests a Freightliner semi-truck was towing a trailer east on the highway when it approached a second Freightliner 18-wheeler on the shoulder, which was unloading power poles for nearby construction.

A woman was struck and killed on Md. 295 in Maryland’s Anne Arundel County after she crashed her Volkswagen SUV and then got out of the vehicle Sunday morning, Maryland State Police said. The woman is identified as Marian Narain, 21, of Gambrills. She died at the scene. Maryland State Police said that shortly before 6 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on southbound Route 295 at Nursery Road.

GSP said in the first crash, a Honda Accord rear ended a Toyota Tacoma. That caused the Tacoma to travel off the west shoulder of the roadway.

Two core features of smart motorways contributed to the death of a grandmother when her car broke down and was hit by another driver, a coroner has ruled. Nargis Begum, 62, had climbed out of the passenger seat of a Nissan Qashqai on the M1 in South Yorkshire when it was struck by a Mercedes, causing it to plough into her. The lack of a hard shoulder and a loophole in the M1’s incident detection system had left her stranded on the tarmac for more than 16 minutes before collision, the inquest into her death was told.
