Two dead, three injured after tractor-trailer rear-ends SUV on I-95
HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Two people are dead and three others are injured after a tractor-trailer collided with the back of an SUV on I-95 in Halifax County on Tuesday. The crash happened southbound on the interstate, south of Roanoke Rapids at about 9:45 p.m. Troopers’ investigation found that a white Chevrolet Equinox had stopped in the roadway and a tractor-trailer hit the back of the SUV, causing the SUV to roll off the road to the left, hitting the guardrail.

BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) - A 49-year old man is dead following a crash Monday night near Cherry Valley. Joseph Nunez of Rockford was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle became disabled and another car crashed into his. According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the call came in at 8:15 p.m. on October 24 and deputies responded to the 4100 block of Cherry Valley Road. Preliminary investigations show a car was traveling west on Cherry Valley Road west of Rosetter Road and was stopped on the road.

Porter County, IN – October 22, 2022, Carlos Robinson was killed due to an accident where his vehicle crashed with a semi-truck. Investigators indicated that the incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. along I-94 outside of Portage. It appears that 31-year-old Carlos Robinson of Chicago Heights, Illinois was in a Cadillac traveling westbound on the interstate. Ahead, a semi-truck was broken down. The Cadillac somehow hit the back of the truck.

McLennan County, TX – September 26, 2022, a Harlingen man was killed after an accident where an 18-wheeler crashed along I-35. Initial details indicated that the incident happened at around 1:10 a.m. along I-35 near Ross Road. It appears that a previous crash occurred, leaving vehicles disabled along the right lane of southbound I-35. An approaching 18-wheeler apparently did not see the vehicles in time, crashing into them and causing an explosion.

ST JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 59-year-old man is dead after a crash in St. Johns County Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The report says the driver of a van was traveling south on I-95 near County road 210 in St. Augustine when he hit the rear of a trailer that was parked on the right shoulder of the highway. The driver of the van died. No further information was given as of Tuesday morning.

SHIPSHEWANA, Ind. – Officials are currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal Toll Road crash that claimed the life of a Florida man around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Indiana State Police. Troopers were dispatched to the reported collision on I-90 near mile-marker 111.2 and located the rear-end collision between a passenger car and a transport van. Upon arriving on the scene, troopers discovered an injured man unresponsive on the roadway, and while LaGrange County EMS attempted lifesaving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 38-year-old Bakersfield man died over the weekend in Fresno County after his vehicle left the road and slammed into a large rock. According to the California Highway Patrol, a resident spotted a wrecked 2013 Acura ILX just before noon Sunday along Highway 180, west of Silver Lane, near Squaw Valley. CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said investigators believe the man was heading east on Highway 180 on Saturday night when his vehicle missed a curve in the road and slid across the gravel shoulder before crashing into a large rock and overturning into a creek bed.

CHARLESTOWN — On October 20, 2022, a 20-year man from North Walpole, New Hampshire was announced dead at the scene of an accident on Bellows Falls Road in Charlestown. At roughly 8:30 PM on Thursday evening, the Charlestown Police Department responded to a call regarding a pedestrian that had been struck by a car on Route 12. It was determined by the investigating police departments that a group of three people, including the young man who perished in the accident, were traveling on Bellow Falls Road when their vehicle struck a bear.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two people were killed in separate pre-dawn highway accidents, New Orleans police said Saturday (Oct. 22). The first fatal wreck occurred around 12:12 a.m. on the westbound Pontchartrain Expressway (US 90B) at the Claiborne Avenue exit. Police said responding officers found a taxi cab had crashed into the left-side guard rail. The 44-year-old man driving the cab was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy will determine whether the driver died in the crash, or from a medical emergency that preceded the wreck.
