Crash involving 9 semitrailers, 12 other vehicles in Arapahoe County closes I-70 to Kansas border
A semitrailer jackknifed on Interstate 70 in Arapahoe County on Wednesday afternoon, leading to a domino-effect multi-vehicle crash involving eight additional semitrailers and a dozen passenger vehicles. The crash and winter storm conditions forced a shutdown of the highway from Airpark Road to the Kansas border, though no injuries were reported. The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near Byers, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

Hockley County, TX – January 17, 2023, five people were injured following an accident where a vehicle hitting a cow caused a chain reaction. Officials said they responded to the area of US 62/82 and Foster Road at around 7:30 a.m. According to initial reports, a vehicle traveling along the highway crashed into a cow. This left the vehicle stationary, following which another vehicle crashed into the first one. Five people were taken to the hospital, and injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

Dallas, TX – December 22, 2022, Robert Irving Epps was killed following an accident where an 18-wheeler hit his vehicle. Investigators said that the crash took place at around 10:37 p.m. along the southbound lanes of I-35E near Medical District Road. It appears that 55-year-old Robert Irving Epps was in a vehicle that became disabled in the center of the freeway. While there, an 18-wheeler slammed into the back of the car.

A driver who survived his car getting struck by two vehicles ended up getting hit by a passing semi-truck, KIRO 7 reports. The wild collision was reported around 4:25 a.m. Tuesday (January 17) on State Route 527 in Bothell, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The Washington State Patrol said the victim’s car smashed into a barrier on the right side of the highway, and the force sent the vehicle back into traffic.

STARK COUNTY, N.D. — A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a 50 year-old Dickinson woman and a 36 year-old Milwaukee man occurred on Interstate 94 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Monday. North Dakota Highway Patrol officials identified the woman in a press release Tuesday as Tana Marie Johnson. She was driving a 2012 Buick Enclave, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, Demetrius Arnez Chambers, suffered no injuries. According to first responders, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A tractor-trailer driver has died and another person has been hospitalized following a crash in Darlington County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The tractor-trailer driver was identified as Asim Balcinovic, 53, of Summerset, Texas, according to the Darlington County Coroner. It happened at about 6:20 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 20 eastbound near mile marker 133, SCHP said. A 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-20 when it ran off the right side of the road, side-swiped a disabled 2012 Honda sedan and hit several trees, according to the SCHP.

HENDERSON (KTNV) — A 39-year-old man is dead after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 11 South, north of Horizon Drive in Henderson, according to Nevada State Police. Nevada State Police responded to the collision on Jan. 8, at approximately 4:48 a.m. A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a silver Hyundai Elantra was traveling southbound on the interstate when, “for reasons unknown,” state police say the car veered left and into the median.

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - A child died when the car they were riding was rear-ended on the interstate. Arkansas State Police reported the crash happened at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, on Interstate 40 at the 284-mile marker in Crittenden County. Alexandria Burks, 24, of West Memphis was eastbound when her Lincoln MKZ ran out of fuel and stalled in the right lane of traffic. According to the crash report, a 2016 Chevy Cruze struck the Lincoln’s rear, injuring Burks and three of her passengers, including 32-year-old Lemeisia Warren of West Memphis and two children.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — Human remains were found inside a vehicle in a ravine just off Lock 17 Road Wednesday afternoon, according to the Bessemer Police Department. Police said a contractor who was installing utility poles discovered the vehicle at the bottom of the ravine. Police said the vehicle was found to be related to a missing person case filed with the Bessemer Police Department in September 2022.
