Naugatuck pedestrian crash on Route 8 leaves 1 person dead, another person injured
NAUGATUCK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police said a pickup truck collided with two pedestrians on Route 8 South in Naugatuck Thursday, resulting in one person dead and another person injured. State police said the crash happened near Exit 26 around 1:55 p.m. A Mercedes-Benz was stopped in the right shoulder of the road, south of the Exit 26 off-ramp, following a unrelated collision that had previously occurred. A Ford F450 was traveling in the left lane on Route 8, approaching the scene of the crash, when the driver lost of control and “entered into a rotation,” state police said.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to a multi-vehicle crash near Perry on Monday. The crash occurred early on May 12 on I-35 in Noble County just north of Perry. Troopers say that a car carrying four people struck a deer and became disabled on I-35. All four people got out of the car before “a semi, trying to avoid the car, was rear ended by a car hauler, causing the semi to tip onto the car.

What we know about the I-81 crash At 2:37 a.m., deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the 4-mile marker on Interstate 81 for reports of a multiple vehicle crash. A BMW sedan was southbound just south of the Inwood exit when the vehicle hydroplaned, hit a guardrail, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the side of a tractor-trailer, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

LONG BEACH, CA — A woman was struck and killed Monday night when she got out of her vehicle on the Artesia (91) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP says the woman was driving a Scion XD, for unknown reasons, caught fire and became disabled in the No. 1 lane of the Artesia Freeway, just east of Cherry Avenue, at around 10:29 p.m. The woman got out of her vehicle and that’s when a driver in a Toyota Camry, while trying to avoid a crash, unsuccessfully swerved and sideswiped the Scion XD, the CHP said.

Los Angeles County firefighters said the Nissan SUV was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived, and the driver was pronounced dead. There were 63 people onboard the bus during the crash, according to CHP.

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal early morning crash that occurred along the eastbound lanes of the I-30 Freeway. At approximately 2:23 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, officers responded to the 2600 block of East I-30 after receiving reports of a major crash involving a passenger car and an 18-wheeler. The preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle was stopped in the center lane of travel without its lights on for an unknown reason.

The woman, who was in the car that broke down, died from her injuries at the scene.
