Crash on I-85 South leaves 1 dead after tractor-trailer hits stopped vehicle
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A three-vehicle crash on I-85 South killed a man after a tractor-trailer struck a vehicle that had stopped on the road following an earlier collision, state troopers said. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, around 1 a.m., two cars were both traveling on I-85 South when they collided near MM 78. One of the vehicles came to rest off the shoulder, while the other vehicle stopped on the interstate.

According to a report, a school bus had stopped to pick up a child, when a passenger vehicle drove into the rear of the bus.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — A driver died when their vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was illegally parked along Interstate 85, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday at the rest stop near mile marker 24. The coroner said that the victim was driving on I-85 when he went off the right side of the road and crashed into the back of a parked tractor-trailer.

VAN BUREN — A 72-year-old Van Buren woman was found safe Saturday in the rugged White Rock Mountain area in northwestern Franklin County, five days after she went missing. “She is OK and is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital,” Lt. Jay Baker, public information officer for the Van Buren Police Department, said Monday. The department issued an alert Wednesday after Sharon Brasher was reported missing by family members.
