Man hit and killed while pulled over on the side of the road on I-37
SAN ANTONIO — Police say one person was killed in an accident on the southeast side early Friday morning. The crash was reported on I-37 between Military Drive and Loop 410 around 3:30 a.m. Witnesses told police that a man was on the side of the road with car issues when he was hit by a passing car. The driver of the car that hit him did not stop, so witnesses chased her to a nearby gas station on Hot Wells Blvd.

SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - A two-vehicle crash on southbound I-435 near Midland Drive has killed one person. A news release from the Shawnee Police said police officers responded to a rollover crash involving a commercial vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found a dump truck had left the road after striking an unoccupied pickup truck that was left abandoned on the shoulder of the highway. The driver of the commercial dump truck was ejected and sustained fatal injuries.

NOBLE COUNTY, Okla. – According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one person died and seven others were injured in the massive pile up on I-35 on Tuesday near the Billings exit. OHP said a heavy blanket of smoke from a grass fire caused a chain reaction crash that left the southbound lanes of I-35 seared and scarred. “It was very violent,” said Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Trooper Eric Foster. OHP hadn’t even heard reports of the grass fire before they got a call about a crash.

Two people were killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer Tuesday in East Cocalico Township. The crash happened on Route 222 southbound between the I-76/PA 272 and US 322-Blue Ball exits around 3 p.m., according to PA511. Responding officers with East Cocalico Township police found two vehicles involved − a tractor-trailer stopped on the right shoulder of the highway and a Hyundai sedan on the left shoulder, police said in a news release.

A Kennewick man was killed when a semi truck slammed into his car after he stopped because of another crash on Highway 395 in the Kennewick city limits Monday. Kevin Hinojosa, 27, had rear-ended a car as he headed up the hill into Kennewick from the blue bridge about 6:30 p.m., said Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Thorson. The other driver pulled off to the side of the roadway, but Hinojosa’s car had stalled or wouldn’t start.

Smith County, TN — September 24, 2022, 61-year-old Timothy Burton died in a collision with a parked 18-wheeler on Interstate 40 in Smith County. Authorities say the incident happened around 4:00 p.m. on the shoulder of eastbound I-40 near mile marker 261. Preliminary investigation suggests a tractor-trailer was stopped on the shoulder due to possible mechanical issues or malfunctions. Its driver had just placed safety markers behind the truck when Burton, eastbound in a Ford F-150 veered onto the shoulder for unknown reasons and hit the back of the semi-trailer.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A woman is in the hospital after being struck by a semi-truck while trying to push her car off I-10, DPS officials said. According to DPS, the crash happened around 2:28 a.m. on Sunday near milepost 115 near Buckeye. The woman was in the process of pushing her car off the highway when the semi-truck hit her. Officials said that she is currently in serious condition. At this time, DPS has not released details about what led up to the crash or confirmed if impairment played a role.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a car that crashed into a ravine in Calabasas Saturday afternoon, but after some investigating, officials believe the fatal crash took place a day or two before. The call came in just after 4 p.m., and deputies headed to Mulholland Highway about half a mile north of Las Virgenes Road, according to Lt. Jordan of the LASD. When they arrived, responders found the vehicle had tumbled down the side of a hill.

John Winton McNab, 86, was the driver of a grey Mercedes B discovered in the Highlands at about 1.20pm on Sunday 18 September. Police Scotland confirmed that McNab, from Perth, was reported missing on Friday 16 September. The independent police investigations and review commissioner (Pirc) has now been instructed to investigate his death by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and will report to them.
