One Driver Injured In Chain Reaction Crash On Palmetto Expressway
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – One person was injured in a chain reaction crash Wednesday morning on the Palmetto Expressway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a red Toyota was heading when it was hit from behind by another vehicle in the area of NW 37 Avenue. The collision caused the driver of the Toyota to lose control, slam into the guardrail, and then the vehicle overturned. An approaching tractor trailer switched lanes in an attempt to avoid hitting the Toyota.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says they are seeking information about a vehicle that hit and killed a motorcyclist in Charleston County on Thursday. It happened on I-26 westbound near the 216-mile marker at 2 a.m. The motorcycle driving struck the rear of a vehicle that was disabled in the roadway, Master Trooper Brian Lee says. Then while lying in the road, the motorcyclist was hit and killed by an unknown vehicle, troopers say.

WENDOVER — The driver of a car that had stopped on I-80 Monday night was killed after being hit by a semitruck, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. CABAZON (CNS) – A crash involving two semi-trucks backed up traffic Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 near Cabazon. The crash occurred at around 4:50 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway near Haugen-Lehmann Way when a broken-down semi-truck that had stopped on the roadway was hit by another semi-truck, according to Caltrans. The crash initially prompted the closure of the number two, three and four lanes, backing up traffic to Fields Road, but lanes have since reopened.

SILVER LAKE, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a woman who got out her vehicle after a crash Saturday near Silver Lake was struck by an SUV driven by a first responder. The Minnesota State Patrol says 28-year-old Rhiannon Phillippi, of Hutchinson, is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Phillippi crashed on Highway 7 in McLeod County around 11 a.m. Saturday before she was struck by a vehicle driven by Silver Lake Fire Chief Dale Kosek, the Star Tribune reported.

Two men are dead after stepping onto Interstate 95 in Dania Beach on Sunday to pull an object from the highway, said the Florida Highway Patrol. According to the highway patrol, the men were travelling south in a white Chevy pickup near the State Road 84 exit when the driver pulled to the shoulder of the interstate so he and his passenger could get the object. The two men were struck by an unknown vehicle, and the driver did not stop after striking the men.

Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Hoover 911 received a call of a traffic crash involving a passenger car and a tractor-trailer on I-459 southbound, said Capt. Keith Czeskleba. The car was stopped in the travel lane as a result of that crash and the driver was standing outside of his vehicle when another vehicle hit him.
