One dead, one hurt after crashes near Oakbrook Terrace
A woman died Saturday morning after she was struck by an SUV near Oakbrook Terrace while examining damage to her car from an earlier multivehicle crash, authorities said. The woman’s identity hasn’t been released, pending notification of family. A teenage passenger in a vehicle involved in the chain of collisions was hurt, too. The tragedy unfolded about 7 a.m. when the driver of an out-of-service Superior ambulance hit a patch of black ice while heading west on Roosevelt Road past York Road, DuPage County sheriff’s police said in a news release.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says they are seeking information about a vehicle that hit and killed a motorcyclist in Charleston County on Thursday. It happened on I-26 westbound near the 216-mile marker at 2 a.m. The motorcycle driving struck the rear of a vehicle that was disabled in the roadway, Master Trooper Brian Lee says. CABAZON (CNS) – A crash involving two semi-trucks backed up traffic Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 near Cabazon. The crash occurred at around 4:50 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway near Haugen-Lehmann Way when a broken-down semi-truck that had stopped on the roadway was hit by another semi-truck, according to Caltrans. The crash initially prompted the closure of the number two, three and four lanes, backing up traffic to Fields Road, but lanes have since reopened.
