TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The passing lane of US-41 near the intersection of East French Drive was shut down for around an hour Wednesday night after a disabled vehicle was rear ended, Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said. The road was shut down after a disabled vehicle was hit while stopped on US-41, Ames said. While traveling northbound on US-41, a driver’s car became disabled and the driver stopped in the passing lane, turning on the vehicle’s emergency hazard lights.

14-year-old killed in I-95 crash, her brother pulled from car by good Samaritan, mother says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kenyatta Williams says her son and daughter were in the midst of delivering homemade chocolate covered strawberries when they were both involved in a crash Monday night on I-95. Williams said her daughter, 14-year-old Kmiya Norris died in the crash. Williams’ son, 17-year-old Kiyon Newton was pulled out of their car by a good Samaritan and rushed to a hospital with critical injuries. Norris loved to dance, and she loved to make chocolate covered strawberries.

CHP: Woman found dead after possible days-old crash on WB I-80 on-ramp in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman was found dead after a solo crash on a westbound Interstate 80 on-ramp in Sacramento Tuesday morning, but investigators say the crash may have happened days ago. The California Highway Patrol said the 19-year-old woman from Woodland hit a tree at freeway speeds on the West El Camino Avenue on-ramp to get onto westbound Interstate 80. She was the only person inside the vehicle, officials said.

Mother, child dead after vehicle found floating in pond in New Jersey

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (WABC) – Authorities are investigating after a mother and her child died after their vehicle went into a pond in New Jersey. The incident was reported near Stelton Road and Lakeview Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Crews responding to the scene found a vehicle floating in New Market Pond with two people inside – a mother and her 9-month-old child. The two individuals, later identified as Tameka Robinson and her son Noah, were pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Vermont State Police said on Saturday that strong winds caused Friday night’s crash on Interstate 89 north in Colchester. A Plattsburgh man pulled over into the breakdown lane and called for help about a half-mile south of Exit 17 when his van overheated. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., while he was waiting for help to arrive, police said a Quebec man driving a tractor trailer lost control of his rig due to the wind.
