Robert Sherman of Chesterfield found dead after rental vehicle was found stuck in snow in Huntington, police say
Robert Sherman of Chesterfield was found dead after he was reported missing Feb. 7, Massachusetts State Police said. Police said a vehicle he had rented was found stuck in snow in Huntington on Feb. 9 near 230 Norwich Lake Road. He was last seen two days before in Westfield around 9:30 a.m. “Sadly Robert Sherman was located deceased. Our sympathy and prayers go out to Mr. Sherman’s family and friends,” police said in a Facebook post.

EASTOVER, N.C. (WNCN) — Multiple people were injured in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Cumberland County on Tuesday morning, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. According to a responding trooper, an initial call of a disabled vehicle came in at approximately 4:22 a.m. on I-95 at Exit 63 in Eastover. A chain-reaction crash caused by the disabled vehicle followed shortly after. The wreck, which involved four vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, occurred when one vehicle slammed into the disabled vehicle stopped on the interstate and then another two automobiles hit those vehicles.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — An investigation is now underway after police say a man’s body was found in a vehicle submerged near Hobbs Island Road and Harbor Road in Huntsville Sunday night. Huntsville Police say they believe the vehicle might have driven through a barricade in the area. Officials received the call of the submerged vehicle around 9:30 that evening, but officials at the scene said the incident could have occurred hours earlier.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man was transported by Life Flight after he was struck while outside of his car in an auto-pedestrian crash in northwest Harris County early Monday, according to deputies. This happened around 12:30 a.m. on the feeder road along Highway 290 heading northwest near Becker Road. According to Harris County sheriff’s deputies, a Toyota Camry was exiting when he swerved to avoid a disabled Mercedes in the right lane.

Dayton, TX – February 11, 2022, a man was killed as the result of an accident where a pickup and an 18-wheeler crashed into a car along US 90. Investigators indicated that the crash took place at around 7:00 a.m. west of town on US 90 near the Grand Parkway construction. According to reports, a Honda Civic reportedly broke down along the roadway where there was no shoulder. While in the road, a Dodge Ram hit the Honda, causing the car to spin into the barricade.

UPDATE (2/15): A motorcyclist died after crashing into a disabled car in the middle lane of US 54. El Paso police say 61-year-old Anthony Lightbourn died at the scene. The driver of the car that had become disabled was on the right shoulder attempting to warn drivers. Police say the crash happened at 11:30 a.m. The collision was one of two accidents that happened around the same time near the same area.

LAKESIDE — Two people were killed and two were injured early Saturday when a car went off Interstate 8 in Lakeside and struck a tree on the right shoulder of the freeway, officials said. The driver, 44-year-old man, was heading west on I-8 east of Lake Jennings Park Road when for an unknown reason the 2005 Toyota Camry Solara veered off the road and struck the tree, the California Highway Patrol said.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — One person is dead after a car was found flipped into a retention pond, according top South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper Nick Pye. The driver of a 2017 Honda sedan was traveling north on Highway 17 and attempted to take the exit ramp to Highway 22, according to Pye. The driver ran off the road to the left and overturned into a retention pond, Pyse said.

A pickup truck driver hit a woman who had stopped to remove a mattress from Interstate 5, then sped away, Oregon State Police said. The woman stopped after spotting the mattress blocking a lane on a flyover near Eugene at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, state police said in a news release sent to McClatchy News. After removing the mattress, the woman was hit by a red pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed while walking back to her vehicle, which had its hazard lights on, police said.

(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police tweeted a synopsis of multiple crashes that happened Sunday afternoon as snow moved through the area. According to MSP, on eastbound I-96 near Grand River, a driver got out of his vehicle to inspect the damage on his car after he was involved in an earlier crash. Another driver reportedly could not stop and struck the vehicle. MSP said that the pedestrian was pushed into a highway wall barrier by his vehicle.
