Colorado State Patrol investigating after pedestrian was hit by a vehicle
SAGUACHE COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A pedestrian is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after reportedly getting hit by a vehicle. The incident happened on Friday around 2:40 a.m. on Saguache County Road 49.5 just south of Saguache County Road B. Colorado State Patrol say a blue 1995 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup was heading south on Saguache County Road 49.5 approaching a vehcile that was stopped on the right shoulder. A pedestrian was reportedly near the center of the road, next to the stopped vehicle.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman from Lake Worth was killed Thursday night on I-95 in Palm Beach County. Florida Highway Patrol said a car was traveling northbound when the driver saw a car that had crashed in the right travel lane and swerved to the right to avoid the car. The crash was north of Atlantic Avenue. As a result, the driver struck the person who was standing in the outside emergency lane near the disabled vehicle.

A Dayton woman was killed Sunday night after she was hit by a car while she was outside a disabled vehicle on Interstate 70 in Springfield Twp. Around 9:09 p.m., a 34-year-old Dayton woman was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala west on I-70 when the car hit a deer and became disabled in the road near state Route 72, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. A passenger in the car, 61-year-old Sharon Johnson of Dayton got out of the vehicle and was hit by a 2012 Honda Pilot driven by a 35-year-old Trotwood man.

The first in a series of crashes was reported on the northbound I-405 Freeway at Jamboree Road around 1:47 AM. As authorities arrived on scene they located a crash involving three vehicles, a white Toyota Tacoma, a black Mercedes Benz SUV, and a blue Toyota Mirai that was stopped in lanes.

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — An off-duty San Diego Police Department officer was treated for minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while removing tires from Interstate 5 on Friday morning. The incident was first reported at 6 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP Officer Hunter Gerber said a semi-truck, driven by a 47-year-old Granada Hills resident, was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 near state Route 76 when two of its tires dislodged and rolled into the southbound traffic lanes on Interstate 5.

A man was killed on Highway 1 on the Oxnard Plain Friday morning while standing next to a disabled vehicle on the shoulder, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident north of Wood Road was reported around 7 a.m. The site is in an unincorporated agricultural area south of Hueneme Road, near Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu. Marcelo Santos, 34, a Gardena resident, was standing next to a disabled 2000 Ford Explorer SUV parked on the right northbound shoulder, according to Officer Vince Rangel of the CHP’s Ventura office.

Yavapai County, AZ – April 20, 2022, a pedestrian was struck and killed after an 18-wheeler hit an unoccupied car in the lanes of Interstate 17 in Yavapai County. Authorities say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on I-17 near Black Canyon City. Preliminary investigation suggests a passenger vehicle was stopped in the Number 2 lane of the road for unknown reasons when it was hit by a tractor-trailer. The impact pushed the unoccupied car into a pedestrian who was standing near it on the road.

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a massive fire that followed a crash involving two semi-trucks Wednesday night on the Ohio Turnpike. It happened in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near Murray Ridge Road. Just after 8:15 p.m., OSHP says a semi-truck became stuck in the right lane due to an issue with the vehicle. Another semi-driver hit that truck, ran off the road and hit the concrete median.
