Woman killed in I-5 Carlsbad crash identified
A woman who was killed when her disabled van was struck by another vehicle on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad earlier this month has been identified as Luz Maria Sandoval, 63. The Carlsbad resident was southbound on I-5 just north of Poinsettia Lane when her Dodge van became disabled about 10:50 p.m. on Jan. 9, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Her son got out of the van and was pushing it on the freeway, then jumped out of the way just before it was rear-ended by a Ford SUV.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) is asking for public help in locating a semi truck and driver involved in a hit-and-run crash in November. On January 16, the AZDPS put out a call for help from the public in locating a truck that was involved in an injury crash on November 8, 2024, in southern Arizona. Officials say that the crash occurred at 9:18 p.m. on November 8 on westbound I-10 near the Avra Valley Road exit (milepost 243) in Marana.

Elkhart, IN — January 10, 2025, one person was injured in a truck accident at about 7 p.m. on the Indiana Toll Road. Authorities said a Ford SUV lost control and crashed won the snowy highway near the Elkhart exit. The vehicle came to rest across the eastbound lanes of the highway. The driver was standing beside his vehicle when it was hit by a 2019 Volvo semi-truck, forcing the SUV into the man and knocking him into the ditch.

A driver died after hitting a truck on Route 24 in Berkley Tuesday afternoon, officials said. A little before 1 p.m., a vehicle hit an empty truck in the breakdown lane of the freeway, the Massachusetts State Police Department said. The truck belonged to a nearby work crew. The crash happened on the south side of Route 24 in Berkley, near mile marker 13.8. The driver died as a result of the crash, the state police said.

DONIPHAN, Neb. (KSNB) - Slick roads were a factor in a chain reaction crash Thursday night on Highway 281 just north of Doniphan. The Hall County Sheriff’s office said the accident happened just before 7 p.m. at the Clarice Street intersection. The sheriff said a driver was pulling out of the Dollar General parking lot and struck a south-bound semi. The semi jack-knifed and blocked both north and south bound lanes of the highway.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Seventh Division responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-65 southbound near the Grade Lane exit. That’s near Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. According to preliminary investigations, a vehicle driving southbound lost control and struck the retaining wall and rebound onto the roadway.

Authorities have identified a man who died after his car was struck by two vehicles on Interstate 95 in New Hampshire on Monday night. Troopers responding to a report of a smoking vehicle stopped in the middle lane on the southbound side of the highway near mile marker 13 in Portsmouth shortly before 7 p.m. learned three vehicles were involved in a crash, according to New Hampshire State Police. A preliminary investigation revealed that 62-year-old Martin Osier, of Bremen, Maine, was driving south near Exit 7 when his 2010 Toyota Camry drifted onto the left shoulder and sideswiped a cement barrier before continuing along with at least one tire partially deflated, police said.

DANBURY — Two local men died in a three-car crash on Interstate 84 Sunday morning, according to state police. Connecticut State Police identified the men who died as Danbury residents Ronald Omar Tello, 27, and Carlos Jimenez Molina, 36. In an incident report released Monday morning, state police said the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Sunday. A 2008 Hyundai Tiburon was disabled in the left lane, facing oncoming traffic after crashing into a guardrail in the right shoulder, the report said.
