Motorcyclist survives deer crash, dies in vehicle hit and run
A motorcyclist is dead after a horrific crash in central Alberta early Friday morning. Just before 6 a.m., the man struck a deer on Highway 815 and Township road 420, southeast of Ponoka. RCMP say he lost control of the bike and slid, coming to a stop in the middle of the highway. The motorcycle crashed into the ditch. Several passersby stopped to help the victim, but as they were assisting him a northbound vehicle pulled out to pass one of the vehicles that had stopped to help.

SNYDER – A Houston truck driver was killed early Thursday when his vehicle hit a semi-tractor-trailer parked on the highway shoulder because of a flat tire, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release. A 2006 Freightliner semi-tractor-trailer was headed northwest about 23 miles from here on U.S. Highway 84 at about 6:10 a.m. when it “crossed the east fog line,” DPS said. The 2006 Freightliner struck the rear of the parked 2016 Freightliner semi-tractor-tractor.

On late Wednesday, a woman was hit and killed by a passing vehicle on Interstate 805 after she stepped out of her vehicle following a crash. Police say the 54-year-old had gotten out of her SUV and stepped onto the highway when she was struck by a pickup. BOISE, Idaho — A Boise driver who ran out of fuel was struck and killed by a pickup truck late Wednesday night. The crash happened at 11:47 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 east of Boise. Idaho State Police say 54-year-old Kala Blush ran out of gas and stopped on the right shoulder of the highway.

A 34-year-old motorcyclist died after rear-ending a disabled car on a Bronx highway, officials said Wednesday. Joel Ramirez Payano was heading south on the Major Deegan Expressway near the E. 233rd St. exit in Woodlawn Heights about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when he slammed into the back of a 2007 Toyota Prius with a flat tire in the left lane. Payano tried to brake, but was too late and was thrown from his motorcycle onto the asphalt, cops said.

A man is dead after being struck by a car along Carolina Beach Road early Sunday morning. According to a news release from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Ammad ONeil Brown, a 25-year-old from Wilmington, was parked with a flat tire sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday on the right shoulder of Carolina Beach Road between Myrtle Grove and Carolina Beach. Brown was outside his vehicle when he was struck by a car heading north on Carolina Beach Road.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro police said they are investigating a hit-and-run that sent a man to the hospital overnight. The crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Shannon Avenue and Pierce Road. Police said the man’s car was hit while he was changing a tire in Madison. He was injured but is expected to make a full recovery. According to police, the driver who hit him took off and has not been caught.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after a vehicle hit a woman who got out of her vehicle to help a driver that crashed Wednesday morning on Alcoa Highway. KPD said it initially responded to a vehicle that hit the inside of a concrete barrier on southbound Alcoa Highway near the exit ramp to Kingston Pike around 5:22 a.m. The crashed vehicle came to a stop in the left lane, and two other vehicles not involved stopped to help the driver.
