20-year-old gets out of car after crash and is repeatedly run over, Georgia cops say
A 20-year-old woman who got out of her car after hitting a wall on a highway near Atlanta died after being repeatedly hit by other vehicles, police said. Shamauri Fluellen, of Austell, hit a center divider wall on Interstate 285 at about 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, Cobb County police said in a news release. A purple 2010 Jeep Wrangler hit her gold 2001 Mercedes-Benz E320 from behind. Fluellen got out of her car and tried to cross to the shoulder but was hit and killed by multiple other vehicles on the highway, police said.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — 9 a.m. Update: Troopers have released new details about a deadly crash on I-95 near Ormond Beach. Investigators said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor trailer truck along the interstate early Tuesday. According to an incident report, a man driving southbound on I-95 crashed his 2003 Pontiac sedan into the center guardrail. Investigators said it isn’t clear what led to the crash, but said after it happened, the man exited his car and tried to walk across the northbound lanes of I-95.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A mother was killed when she got out of her car following what police call a minor hit-and-run crash in Kingwood. It happened around 7 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of Highway 59, just north of Kingwood Drive. According to police, as the woman was driving a red sedan with her children inside, another car rear-ended their vehicle and took off. The woman stopped in a lane after the crash and stepped out of her vehicle to check on her children in the back.

MAPLETON, N.D. (KVRR: Update 7:40pm 02/21/22) — Six people are hurt after a multiple-vehicle crash on I-94 between Mapleton and Casselton. North Dakota Highway Patrol says six semis and eight other vehicles were involved in the crash after 10 this morning. The victims were taken to Sanford in Fargo. One 69-year-old woman from Casselton has serious but non life threatening injuries. It all started with a rear-end crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi.

AUSTIN, Texas - Officials say a Good Samaritan died after he was hit by a car in Northeast Austin. Austin-Travis County EMS says medics responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash along East Anderson Lane just east of I-35 at around 4 a.m. on February 20. Officials say another driver had pulled over to help, got out of his car, but was struck by oncoming traffic. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A semi-truck driver died in an overnight crash on the I-80/90 Toll Road near Shipshewana Sunday morning. Shamshitdin Nuridinov, 45, of Morrisville, PA was hit by another semi that veered off the road and hit his truck. Indiana State Police got to the scene at the toll road’s westbound 114 mile-marker and found two semis. One was parked on the shoulder with cautionary triangles, and another had crashed in the nearby ditch.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – All eastbound lanes of I-4 at exit 72 in Orange County were shut down Saturday morning as crews responded to a fatal crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Around 3:20 a.m., a 24-year-old Kissimmee woman and her passenger were traveling west when the driver lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason and struck the inside guardrail, the outside guardrail and finally the inside wall, causing the vehicle to overturn and eject both occupants into eastbound travel lanes, troopers said.

HAWKINS COUNTY — A 1986 Ford Dump Truck wrecked into a disabled 2000 VW Passat that was sitting on the shoulder of Highway 11w near Hammond Ave. According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol on Feb. 17, the dump truck traveled off the right side of the road and hit the small silver car. The dump truck continued uncontrollably up an embankment and overturned. No one was in the car, but the driver of the dump truck was transported to a local hospital.

NISSWA — Strong wind gusts ripping across Gull Lake’s Hole-in-the-Day Bay brought whiteout conditions to Highway 371, causing a multi-car crash just before noon on Friday and shutting down both lanes of the highway for most of the day. The Nisswa Fire Department responded to the crash, reported at 11:53 a.m. north of Brainerd. According to Nisswa Fire Chief, Shawn Bailey, there were 23 vehicles involved in the crash, including three semitrailers.
