FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — A pedestrian walking on the lanes of Highway 41 in north Fresno was struck and killed Saturday night and led to a good Samaritan being struck and hospitalized after stopping to help, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers at 10:56 p.m. received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on the 41 Freeway at the Friant Road off-ramp, said Sgt. John Tyler. Emergency crews found a pedestrian that had been struck by two vehicles on the northbound lanes of the freeway.

Vehicle crashes into concrete barrier on I-10 in St. Martin Parish, 20-year-old man thrown

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) A 20-year-old St. Martinville man who stopped to help the driver of a disabled vehicle died at the scene of the crash after he was thrown over a concrete barrier. According to police, it happened just after midnight Friday when 20-year-old Robin Theriot witnessed another vehicle become disabled after hitting a concrete barrier in the construction zone on I-10 westbound in Breaux Bridge. Before Theriot could help the driver, he was struck by an oncoming vehicle and thrown over the center concrete wall and onto the eastbound lane, Breaux Bridge police said.

Escambia Man Struck And Killed While Standing Outside His Disabled SUV

An Escambia County man was struck and killed while standing behind his disabled vehicle. The Florida Highway Highway Patrol said the 37-year old man was standing behind his disabled SUV on the Highway 90 Escambia River Bridge about 9 p.m. Thursday. A 22-year old Pace man traveling westbound on Highway 90 in a pickup truck did not see the stopped SUV and hit both the SUV and the man. The man’s pickup continued into the eastbound lanes and struck another pickup truck.

Police: Pedestrian trying to help others in crash on I-95 gets hit by car

Police say a pedestrian walking on the side of I-95 was hit by a car as he was trying to help others in a crash. They say the pedestrian suffered minor injuries. Reports say it happened overnight in Westport. The good Samaritan apparently also got a verbal warning from police for “reckless use of the highway by a pedestrian.”

EFFERSON CITY– A Holts Summit woman died after being hit by a pickup truck Tuesday in Jefferson City. A news release from the Jefferson City Police Department says Julie Hentges, 50, of Holts Summit, was struck as she was walking back to her car parked on the shoulder of the road near the intersection of Country Club Drive and Rainbow Drive. BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Both lanes of KY 286/Wickliffe Road, just east of Wickliffe in Ballard County reopened shortly after 1 a.m. following a crash Tuesday night. According to Ballard County 911 Dispatch, a SEMI tractor trailer, a pick-up truck pulling a trailer and a deer were involved in a crash at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Ballard County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the SEMI, Nicolas Bedney, 37 of Humble, Texas, was traveling eastbound and hit a deer.

Police ID men killed in separate Christmas Eve crashes in Middletown, Christiana

Later that night, another man, 34-year-old Bear resident David West, died while stopped on Route 1 north. He had been driving on the highway, just south of the Interstate 95 overpass, when he lost control of his Honda Civic and hit a concrete barrier on the right shoulder of the road. West got out of the car following the crash and was standing in the left lane when a 54-year-old woman from Townsend, who was also driving north, hit his Civic.

One man killed in crash after getting ejected from vehicle on I-70

A man who was ejected from his vehicle was killed early Christmas morning after being struck by two vehicles on eastbound Interstate 70 near Byers in Arapahoe County. The man was involved in a rollover crash after 12:30 a.m. near exit 314 before authorities believe he was ejected from his vehicle, said Mike Disher, chief of the Byers Fire Protection District. The crash is still under investigation.The victim, a 29-year-old man, was driving a Chevy pickup.

Owatonna, MN (KROC AM News) - Three people were hurt Friday when a pickup truck crashed into a stalled vehicle in rural Steele County. The Minnesota State Patrol says the truck was eastbound on Highway 14 when it struck the car that was parked on the shoulder. The truck was driven by 42-year-old Alan Greiner of Mankato. The two people in the car were identified as 53-year-old Anthony Brown and 49-year-old Stacey Powell, both of New Richland.

Pedestrian fatally struck in hit-skip I-75 south in St. Bernard on Christmas Eve

A pedestrian was fatally struck in a hit-skip incident on southbound I-75 on Christmas Eve, according to St. Bernard police. Police said at approximately 11:27 p.m. male pedestrian was struck and killed after getting out of his disabled vehicle. the incident occurred on southbound I-75 at the 6.7 mile marker. Police said the investigation is ongoing. The man has been identified but family has not been notified. Police said preliminary facts show that the man was operating a disabled vehicle in the second lane and had come to a stop.
