SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (CBS) — A violent crash caused major traffic issues Thursday night in Schaumburg. The crash happened on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) between Meacham and Roselle roads. A sport-utility vehicle was left with its front end buried underneath the trailer of a semi-trailer truck. Illinois State Police said a truck with a flatbed trailer was pulling into the left lane of traffic from the shoulder when the SUV struck it.

ORANGE, Texas — A pregnant woman and her baby were among five people killed in two separate crashes on I-10 in Orange County on Wednesday. Both wrecks involved 18-wheelers, and happened about two miles apart. A truck driver was killed Wednesday morning around 9:30 when his truck hit the rear end of another 18-wheeler that was broken down in the middle traffic lane of the interstate. Dash cam video captured a multi-vehicle crash that left three people hurt in California on Wednesday morning. The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on December 9 in Rowland Heights, California. In the dash cam clip, a Honda driver traveling on the 60 Freeway attempts to exit at Nogales Street but instead hits a semi truck, sending the truck skidding with sparks flying.The trucker is able to regain control and pull over safely, but shortly after the initial crash, the disabled Honda was struck by two more vehicles.

Troopers responding to a multi-car crash on Route 24 around 9:30 p.m. learned that a 2008 Toyota Camry traveling southbound struck the median barrier before coming to a rest in the center lane, according to state police.
