Woman killed on foot on Interstate, Maryland state police say
A woman was struck by a car and killed on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County on Monday morning after getting out of her own vehicle on a shoulder, the Maryland State Police said. Kelly Elizabeth Vanaman, 34, of Frederick, Md. struck what was thought to be a chair on the Interstate about 10:30 a.m. and stopped on the left shoulder of the northbound lanes, near Interstate 370 North, the police said.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MASS. (WHDH) - A 21-year-old woman inspecting the damage of her crashed car was struck and killed by another vehicle in West Bridgewater on Sunday night, authorities said. Troopers responding to a multi-car crash on Route 24 around 9:30 p.m. learned that a 2008 Toyota Camry traveling southbound struck the median barrier before coming to a rest in the center lane, according to state police. The driver of the Camry, a 21-year-old Taunton woman, got out of her car to inspect the damage when she and her car were hit by a 2008 Jeep Liberty, driven by a 24-year-old Braintree woman, state police added.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department says two are dead, one male and one female, in a crash between an 18-wheeler and another vehicle on I-65 between Airport and Government. Witnesses on scene say they saw the 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder of the interstate since at least 9:30 Monday morning, without the emergency reflectors around the truck. One person was at work at Southeast Salvage Home Emporium when the crash happened, he said “The truck was stopped and when the car hit the truck the whole 18-wheeler moved.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WPRI) — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a series of crashes on Route 24 that claimed the life of a Taunton woman. According to police, the 21-year-old woman was driving southbound on the highway Sunday night when, for reasons currently unknown, she struck the median barrier and her car came to a stop in the center lane. After the woman got out of the vehicle to inspect the damage, she and her car were hit by a Jeep which then careened into another car, causing the Jeep to roll over and hit a third car.

PETERBOROUGH — A pedestrian suffered minor injuries Saturday morning, after he was struck by a tractor-trailer while trying to help at the scene of a multi-car pileup on Route 202, according to police. Joshua Freeman, 32, of Milford, was driving when his vehicle left the roadway due to the hazardous conditions caused by Saturday’s snowstorm. While in his car, he saw an accident on the road, and walked over to help those involved, according to Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard.

NEW CASTLE, Delaware (WPVI) – A woman was killed after her car struck the back of a tractor-trailer early Monday morning on Interstate 95 in New Castle, Delaware. The crash happened around 3:10 a.m. near Route 1. According to police, the 34-year-old Newark woman was traveling northbound when, for an unknown reason, her car drifted out of the lanes and into the right shoulder. Her Ford Fusion then hit the back of the tractor-trailer, which was stopped on the shoulder.
