State Trooper reminds drivers of ‘Move Over Law’ after close call on Interstate 80
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - An Iowa City woman is recovering after she said she was hit by a semi-truck while stranded on the side of Interstate 80 Saturday. After having car troubles shortly after getting onto the highway, Alisha Perdomo-Molina said she pulled onto the shoulder. Soon after, she and her vehicle were struck by a semi. She told KCRG-TV9 that she feels lucky to be alive. “I can’t walk straight, I have a hard time going to the restroom, I can’t even sit up straight, I can’t even be in a car that long,” Perdomo-Molina said.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 35-year-old Orlando woman was killed and two others were injured late Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash that sent a car flying off Interstate 4 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal wreck occurred around 11 p.m. on I-4 west near Sand Lake Road.The FHP said a 25-year-old Orlando man was driving a car west when he struck the back of the car in front of him, which was driven by the 35-year-old woman, who had slowed down to assist the driver of a disabled sport utility vehicle that was on the shoulder of I-4.

Fulton, N.Y. — A 25-year-old Fulton man was injured Monday night when his pickup truck rear-ended a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of County Route 14. According to State Police, Alexander J. Fatcheric was driving a 2014 Ford pickup truck north on County Route 14 at about 6:56 p.m. when he hit a legally parked semi on the roadway. Fatcheric was transported to Upstate University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is continuing.

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are searching for a semi-truck that was involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash. Around 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, troopers were called to a deadly hit-and-run crash on eastbound I-40, north of Moffett, in Sequoyah County. Witnesses told troopers that a white semi-truck pulling a white box trailer hit a truck and a pedestrian. Officials say Robert Rabe was driving a 1977 Chevy truck eastbound on I-40 when he got a flat tire and had to pull onto the shoulder.

COZAD — A Florida woman was struck by a semi on I-80 near Cozad during the evening of Saturday, July 18 and was transported by helicopter to Kearney. Around 8 p.m. an eastbound Volkswagen pulled off on the side of I-80 after missing the Cozad area rest stop near mile marker 222, according to Nebraska State Patrol Public Relations Director Cody Thomas. Simone Dennis-Colin, 42 ,of Coral Springs, Fla., a passenger, exited the vehicle and walked into the driving lane, said Thomas.

A man died Sunday night in a collision between a tractor-trailer and a car on Interstate 270 in St. Louis County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 9:50 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-270, south of Missouri Highway 370. The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as Joseph McDowell, 71, of the Hazelwood area. McDowell was driving a 2011 Toyota Avalon north on the interstate when his car lost control due to road conditions and hit a guardrail.

Dr. Russell Moore said he has known John Powell for about 15 years. Powell was his former student and remained a good friend over time. “John was everything I would hope that my sons would grow up to be a man of the gospel, a man of character, a man of integrity, and a man who loves his family and other people,” Moore said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Lee’s Summit woman was killed when she got out of her car following a minor traffic accident along Interstate 435 and was hit by another vehicle, police in Kansas City said. The incident happened late Wednesday night in the northbound lanes of I-435 when 40-year-old Heather Fitzgerald’s car and a truck collided, police said. Investigators believe the car was left disabled in the far left lane of traffic, and Fitzgerald got out of the car and stood on the shoulder of the interstate.

The Coral Springs Fire Department recently received a letter from the Palm Beach Fire Rescue thanking eight-year veteran Lieutenant Kevin O’Connell for his heroic actions while off-duty. O’Connell was in the area of a chaotic scene that occurred on June 6 at 10:30 pm on 441 near Wellington.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 30-year-old man has died after he was hit by a cement truck on Highway 401 in Toronto on Wednesday.
