Long Beach man killed while trying to cross 91 Freeway in Anaheim Hills
After his vehicle possibly broke down, a 26-year-old Long Beach man tried crossing the westbound 91 Freeway in Anaheim Hills but was killed when struck by multiple vehicles Thursday night, Aug. 19, authorities said. The man had pulled over to the median just west of the 241 toll road, perhaps after his vehicle began experiencing problems, said Officer Florentino Olivera, a California Highway Patrol officer and spokesman. Two passengers had successfully crossed the lanes to the shoulder.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Interstate 65 north was shut down near Exit 121 for hours on Sunday after a fatal crash. Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Alicia Smiley said the Traffic Unit responded to a crash on I-65 north just before the Bullitt County line at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. An initial investigation revealed that a Jeep hit a semi-truck that was sitting on the shoulder of the roadway. That collision caused the Jeep to hit a second semi-truck on I-65 north.

New Jersey State Police officials continue to investigate a pedestrian strike that killed a man and severely injured a male on an interstate in Newark Sunday. According to State Police spokesman Sergeant Peele, at approximately 2:23 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the westbound lanes of I-78 near milepost 55.2 after receiving reports of a pedestrian/car accident. State Troopers arrived and found two severely injured males lying on the ground after being struck by a car.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK - Police are seeking information in a hit-and-run that left a 28-year-old South Carolina man in serious condition after he was struck by a van early Saturday morning on southbound Route 1. At about 1 a.m., the man and his girlfriend were driving on southbound Route 1 near Beekman Road when the vehicle ran out of gas and became disabled, police said. The man got out to push the car and was struck by a white Sprinter van that fled the scene southbound on Route 1, police said.

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX CAROLINA) - A man has died following a crash on Tuesday, August 17 at about 4:43 p.m. in Spartanburg County, according to the Spartanburg Coroner’s Office. The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 26-year-old Spencer Thomas Wilson. Wilson was pronounced dead today at 6 p.m. at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened near the 26 mile marker on I-26. Troopers said the driver of a tractor trailer was stopped facing west on I-26 when Wilson, also traveling west, hit the trailer in the rear.

Lackawanna County, PA – August 20, 2021, an 82-year-old man was killed when a tractor-trailer hit a disabled RV on Interstate 80 in Lackawanna County. Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. on I-80 West near Exit 8 toward Mount Cobb. Preliminary investigation suggests the victim’s RV was stopped in the roadway when it was struck from behind by a commercial 18-wheeler hauling garbage. Reports say four people were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.

CHERRY HILL - A motorist was fatally injured in a chain-reaction accident that involved four vehicles on Interstate 295, police say. The victim, whose name was not released, was driving southbound when his Honda struck a guardrail at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. His disabled car spun to a stop facing northbound in the center lane, according to New Jersey State Police. A southbound Chevrolet passenger van struck the Honda, ejecting the disabled car’s driver.

UPDATE (WKOW) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says that I-94 westbound lanes have reopened between Johnson Creek and Lake Mills. The lanes have been closed since around 4 a.m. Wednesday due to a fatal crash. Police said three people died in the multi-vehicle crash. The victim’s names are being withheld at this time while officials notify family. UPDATE (WKOW) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said multiple people died in a crash on I-94 near Johnson Creek early Wednesday morning.
