Tragic fatal DUI crash in Fresno inspires support for newlywed couple from Merced
More than $40,000 was raised in just one day through a GoFundme account to help out a Merced woman who was struck by a suspected drunken driver on Sunday morning on Highway 99 in Fresno. Jennifer Ramos, 28, and her husband Joshua Eisen, 28, were returning to Merced from San Luis Obispo. The couple had just been involved in a single-car crash on northbound Highway 99 and were standing next to their car on the right shoulder when they were struck.

According to investigators, Ventura was driving up the 99 just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, when he drove off the roadway, smashing into the victims standing on the shoulder. The victims were on the side of the road assessing their vehicle after they veered into a concrete wall along the highway.

A good Samaritan who was assisting others in moving a disabled vehicle off a road on Saturday was killed after a car hit him from behind. Officials said a Toyota SUV stalled westbound on D Street. The two occupants were attempting to push it out of the roadway when an unidentified man began to help. A Lexus traveling in the same direction collided into the back of the SUV, trapping the man underneath the vehicle.

A McCurtain County man is dead after a crash in Choctaw County Friday Troopers say Charles Mack, 73, was standing next to the front driver door of his disabled pickup in the northbound lane of Indian Nation Turnpike about eight miles north of Hugo. Another car headed north, driven by 27-year-old Mikka Sennikoff, struck the passenger side of the pickup. Mack was hit and thrown by his pickup into a ditch.

Bruce Trout, 32, was trying to assist at the 6:25 a.m. crash scene when he was reportedly struck by another vehicle. His leg may have to be amputated and he is in the intensive care unit, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help him and his family. His wife, Andrea, is due to give birth on Sunday.

A man has been charged with felony DUI with death after hitting and killing a man who was standing outside a broken down pickup truck on I-85 in Greenville, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A man was injured Monday afternoon while changing a tire in Perry County after he and his vehicle were hit by the trailer of another vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred when 47-year old Marshall Kilburn of Chaffee was outside of his vehicle replacing a tire on Interstate 55 at the 139 mile marker. The vehicle crossed the fog line, then the trailer attached to the truck struck the vehicle of Kilburn and also made contact with the man himself.

Houston police said around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday that truck carrying a Gooseneck trailer stalled and pulled over to the middle breakdown lane. Police said the truck driver put warning triangles behind the trailer, but that wasn’t enough with cars zooming by at 60 miles per hour. Police say a small red car hit the trailer, ejecting the driver of the red car onto the roadway. The driver of the small car did not survive.

A family is in mourning after a disabled father, who was working as an Uber driver to help provide for his eight children, was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway only days before Thanksgiving. Stephen Chiarle, 48, of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, was inside his Ford Edge which was stopped on the Garden State Parkway in Little Egg Harbor Township, Sunday morning. The SUV was then hit by another vehicle passing by.
