One dead, two hurt after several semi-trucks crash on I-72
MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — State law enforcement officials say 32-year-old Eric Ervin from Decatur is dead after he was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday night following a semi crash. It happened on I-72 near the Argenta exit at mile post 150. Illinois State Police say a white 2016 Volvo semi-truck was stopped on the side of the eastbound lanes. Andrii Shvabskyi, 27, of Macomb, had been driving that semi until it broke down.

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 27-year-old woman died when a tractor trailer slammed into her car as she was standing next to it on the shoulder of a Bronx expressway, pinning her between the car and an overpass wall, the NYPD said. Keara Rosa, of Newark, was standing on the shoulder of the Cross Bronx Expressway, near Southern Boulevard, next to her Honda Civic around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday when a driver in a tractor trailer heading east on the expressway tried to swerve to the left to avoid slow-moving traffic, hitting three other cars, police said.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. – A tractor-trailer fatally struck a woman on I-75 south in Monroe County on August 2. That’s according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, which says the accident happened around 11:41 p.m. after the woman’s vehicle broke down on the interstate. Deputies say the victim, identified as Amanda Faye Banks of Flovilla, Georgia, was hit after she got out of her vehicle.Banks was pronounced deceased on the scene.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A woman was killed, and another was injured after being hit by a car on Interstate 44 near the Arch grounds Monday night. According to police, Jude Wold, of Norwalk, Iowa, was stopped on westbound Interstate 44 at the Memorial entrance ramp when a 21-year-old woman stopped to check on her safety. While both women were outside of their vehicles, a 2007 Chevrolet 1500 struck Wold’s car and both pedestrians.

(WTVQ) – A 38-year-old Pine Ridge woman was killed in a freak accident early Monday morning when she stopped to help an accident victim and struck by another car. The victim was identified as 38-year-old Shana Dawn Cunningham-Terrill, of Pine Ridge, according to Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn.

A 39-year-old Wilmington man died Monday morning after being hit by a U-Haul truck as he stood next to his car on Interstate 95, Delaware State Police said. Troopers were called to I-95 south, south of Harvey Road near Claymont just before 1:45 a.m. after receiving reports of the crash. On scene, troopers spoke to the driver of the U-Haul, who said the 39-year-old stopped his Chevrolet Suburban in the right lane of the highway and stood next to the driver’s side door.

MT. STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - The name of the person killed while trying to help after a crash on Interstate 64 in Montgomery County has been released. The initial single-vehicle crash happened early Monday morning around the 108-mile marker, between Mt. Sterling and Winchester. According to the sheriff’s office, an eastbound car went off the road and hit a rock embankment. The car ended up coming to a stop in the middle of the two eastbound lanes.

CHAMBLEE, Ga. (CBS46) – A fatal seven-vehicle pile up caused major delays for commuters on Buford Highway Saturday afternoon. Chamblee Police Department were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. after reports of an accident at the intersection of Chamblee Tucker Road and Buford Highway. Police told CBS46 News that one person is in custody and will be facing multiple felony and traffic-related charges. Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene to investigate.
