Teen Killed, James McGlothlin Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 287 in Clay County, TX
Clay County, TX — May 31, 2024, a teenager was killed and James McGlothlin was injured in a truck accident just before 12:00 noon along U.S. Highway 287. According to authorities, 49-year-old James McGlothlin and a 15-year-old girl were traveling in a southeast bound Chevrolet Malibu on U.S. Highway 287 in the vicinity northwest of Belknap Creek Road when the accident took place. An 18-wheeler was reportedly parked on the right shoulder of the highway.

VERO BEACH,. Fla. (CBS12) — Four people are dead, including a 7-year-old boy, following a crash involving five vehicles on I-95 in Indian River County. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the deadly crash occurred on I-95 northbound near mile marker 153 at 2:15 a.m. on Monday morning. The crash in total involved five vehicles and eleven people. Officials stated that the chain of events began when a 37-year-old woman from Miami, driving a Toyota Camry, rear-ended a Suzuki Vitara driven by a 40-year-old man from Miami for unknown reasons, causing both vehicles to become disabled on the highway.

MARON COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old Gainesville man was killed after his vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 75 in Marion County on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened around in the southbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 359 in Ocala around 4:05 p.m. According to a crash report, a sedan was driving south on I-75 in the outside lane when it traveled into the outside emergency shoulder and crashed into a parked tractor trailer that was hauling pontoon boats.

INDIANAPOLIS – A seven-year-old girl was killed when the car she was in broke down and was hit by a semi-truck on I-70 Thursday night. Four other passengers were injured. “It was someone whose car broke down. They stopped in a place that wasn’t safe, but you can’t blame them for stopping,” said State Police Sergeant John Perrine. “A semi came along and hit their van at nearly highway speed.”

The body of a 72-year old Idaho woman who went missing last month was recovered from the Salmon River near Riggins on Thursday night by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office and United Search Corp, according to a news release. Marsha Hayes was last seen on May 22, driving south on U.S. Highway 95 from Riggins with her service dog in a gray 2006 Acura. Vehicle parts and a license plate were found along the river two days later, and Hayes was found in her vehicle in the water, the release said.

EULESS, Texas — A three-vehicle crash shut down Texas 121 through Euless and resulted in the death of one driver Thursday morning, police said. The crash was reported shortly after 7 a.m. between Cheek-Sparger and Glade roads, in the northbound lanes of the highway. Police said a small Chevrolet SUV was going “at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic” when it hit a disabled pickup truck. The SUV had been trying to pass a vehicle on the inside shoulder of the highway when it the truck, according to a police news release.

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KABC) – Two of the three motorcyclists killed in a violent pileup crash early Thursday on the 5 Freeway near Camp Pendleton were sailors, a U.S. Navy spokesperson confirmed. The crash was reported shortly after 3 a.m. near the Las Pulgas Road onramp, about 10 miles north of Oceanside, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log. U.S. Navy spokesman Brian O’Rourke told KGTV that two of the three men who died were sailors and were stationed in the San Diego-area, but their identities were not released.

MIDDLESEX, Vt. — A box truck wound up on some train tracks near Interstate 89 in Middlesex near the border of Montpelier following an incident with another vehicle. The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles said that the box truck crossed the fog line on I-89 south at 8:39 a.m. and struck a disabled vehicle in the breakdown lane. The crash pushed the disabled vehicle into a ditch and caused the box truck to leave the roadway and come to rest on the nearby railroad tracks about 30 yards away.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — According to ALEA, a two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. The crash occurred when the 1997 Ford F250 struck the 2007 International Truck that was disabled on the roadside. After the initial crash, a pedestrian that was standing on the roadside near the disabled vehicle was struck. The pedestrian sustained injuries from the crash. The crash occurred on Interstate 10 near the 35 mile marker, Baldwin County.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 66 that left a child and woman dead, the police department said Tuesday. Three others suffered serious injuries in the crash, according to investigators. Troopers were called to the westbound lanes of I-66 near mile marker 46 in Prince William County around 2:30 p.m. on Friday. An investigation found that a family traveling in a 2019 Hyundai Tucson pulled over on the right shoulder, where their vehicle was disabled.
