Biker Dead After Crashing Into Semi At Lake Forest Oasis: Police
LAKE FOREST, IL — A motorcycle rider died after crashing into a tractor trailer on Interstate 94 Wednesday, police said. Shortly after 1 p.m. , the driver of a 2007 Honda motorcycle veered onto the right shoulder of the ramp to the Lake Forest Oasis, striking the rear end of a 2019 Freightliner semi-trailer parked on the shoulder at the time, according to Illinois State Police. A 78-year-old Milford, Utah man was critically injured in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

Virginia State Police announced the pickup truck driver who was seriously injured in Wednesday morning’s tractor-trailer crash in Botetourt County later died in the hospital. According to police, the crash — which involved two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck — took place at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday along I-81 South in Botetourt County. Authorities say the pickup truck struck a tractor-trailer that was illegally parked on the right side of the road, but after the pickup truck came to rest in the roadway, another tractor-trailer heading south on I-81 hit the pickup truck.

STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) - A portion of I-95 northbound in Stratford was closed Monday morning after a person was hit by a car on the southbound side of the highway. Police said a man was hit by a car on I-95 southbound, near exit 29 in Bridgeport. The man stopped his vehicle in the right shoulder and got out of the car for an unknown reason, police said. He then ran from the right shoulder across the lanes of traffic, and was struck in the left lane.

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - A woman was killed and a man was hospitalized after they were hit by a car in West Odessa on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Emilee Atwood, 25, of Odessa. According to DPS, their troopers were called to a crash on FM 2020 at 2:28 a.m. Sunday. When the troopers arrived at the scene they found that two pedestrians had been hit by a car.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A man who got out of his car after a crash on U.S. 131 was critically injured Tuesday, July 28, when another vehicle crashed into his car, which then hit him, state police said. A good Samaritan pulled the injured man out of a northbound lane. The injured man, a 44-year-old Grand Rapids resident, was listed in critical condition at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital, police said.

Moments after a driver was involved in a crash on I-20 early Tuesday morning, a tractor-trailer hit his SUV and killed him. Investigators said the tractor-trailer was not able to stop in time before hitting 52-year-old William Head. Head was driving an Acura SUV east on I-20 near Fulton Industrial Boulevard about 1:40 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, he lost control, Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Franka Young told AJC.com. His SUV went across all three lanes of the interstate, left the south shoulder and hit a concrete wall, Young said.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — Two pedestrians were killed in an incident involving multiple vehicles Highway 76 near the Booty Brothers shoe store in Florence County Tuesday. South Carolina Highway Patrol says a westbound Chevy Tahoe changed lanes and hit a Honda Civic, forcing the Civic to cross the centerline, hit an embankment and overturn. Troopers say the Tahoe then struck a Nissan Maxima that was disabled in the median, along with the two pedestrians and a fourth vehicle.

A two-vehicle crash on Highway 51 in Coweta just south of 121st Street has claimed the life of a Coweta woman. The accident occurred Monday around 1:27 a.m. Officer Austin King said the woman was a passenger in a Honda Civic that was parked on the highway shoulder facing eastbound. How far the vehicle had pulled off of the roadway has yet to be determined. The male driver, from Broken Arrow, was in the ditch away from the car for an unknown reason, according to the officer.

In addition to alcohol, speed and distracted driving, Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) troopers are now finding slow driving to be a safety hazard on the roadways. According to Trooper Brian Neff, one of the things the patrol has seen a big spike in recently is motorists breaking down or having car troubles not getting off the interstate. “We have had several instances of that lately,” Neff said. “We had one, turn very tragic, where a person was either driving very, very slow or stopped and another vehicle came upon them.
