15 cars, 3 tractor trailers in pile-up on NYS Thruway near Herkimer
Herkimer, N.Y — A section of the state Thruway was closed most of the afternoon Monday after an 18-vehicle pile-up near Herkimer. The accident was reported around 11:23 a.m. A tractor trailer was disabled along the westbound lanes when another tractor trailer hit it and caused several cars to crash, said Sgt. Jack Keller, a spokesperson for the State Police. The crash is still being investigated but currently involves 15 cars and three tractor trailers, Keller said.

Montour County, PA — February 14, 2025, Courtney Hurry was killed in a truck accident at about 9:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80. Authorities said a 2007 Chevrolet sedan crashed into the back of a semi-truck hauling a flatbed trailer that was stopped near mile marker 225 because of an earlier accident. Chevrolet driver Courtney Hurry, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash near Danville, according to authorities.

One person was killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 25, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The incident took place near Fort Carson at about 6:25 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate, where a Dodge pickup truck was parked on the shoulder with its hazard lights on, officials said. The driver was outside, standing in front of his vehicle, when a southbound truck — with a trailer attached — lost control and hit the Dodge pickup, pushing it into its owner.

A man who pulled over on the side of U.S. 36 and got out of his car Sunday morning died after being hit by two other cars, according to Colorado State Patrol officials. State patrol troopers responded to the crash on U.S. 36, near where it intersects with southbound Interstate 25, around 7:50 a.m. Sunday, officials said in a news release. The two highways intersect in Twin Lakes, east of Westminster and north of Denver.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash — A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 90 near the Evergreen Road overpass left one person dead and caused significant traffic disruptions Friday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). WSP says a car lost control due to the weather and hit the barrier. A second driver stopped to help when a third vehicle struck the person standing on the freeway. That individual was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.

Creek County, OK (February 12, 2025) – A tragic accident on the Turner Turnpike near mile marker 210 claimed the life of an Oklahoma City woman on January 11, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP). Authorities say Amanda Allee was driving eastbound when her vehicle veered off the roadway to the right, colliding with a legally parked semi-truck on the outside shoulder. Sadly, Allee was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the impact.

BOISE, Idaho — Update: The Ada County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man who died after exiting his vehicle on Interstate 84. Samson Edwards, 23, from Meridian, was pronounced dead at mile marker 42 on I-84 early Monday morning. He died from blunt-force injuries, with his manner of death being accidental. Idaho State Police (ISP) reported that on Feb. 10 around 2:30 in the morning, a Kia Rio and a Subaru Impreza were traveling west on I-84.

A 79-year-old man and his 77-year-old wife died Monday night after the Toyota sedan he was driving stopped on Interstate 8 in La Mesa and was hit in a multi-vehicle crash, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office. James Allina and Rosalyn Allina, of La Mesa, were driving east on the freeway when, for unknown reasons, their car became stationary with its lights off in the third lane near Fletcher Parkway, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Two months since a Jacksonville woman died after her car broke down on the Mathews Bridge, another suffered a similar fate. Sunday at about 5 a.m. a 39-year-old Jacksonville woman’s SUV became disabled on the center concrete barrier facing westbound on the bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A woman also westbound in her car then struck the SUV, killing the 39-year-old. The car’s 33-year-old driver, also from Jacksonville, had minor injuries.

ANSONIA, Conn. (WFSB) - Part of Route 8 was closed after a 20-year-old was hit by a pickup truck on Friday night. According to state police, Jaiden Andreiz Ragsdale, age 20, was stopped in the left lane for an unknown reason. Police suspected that Ragsdale was standing next to his car. At the same time, a truck collided with the stopped car. Police said Ragsdale was brought to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
