Roadway covered in snow and ice in I-40 crash that left 2 dead, 16 injured

WILLIAMS, Ariz. — Two people died in a crash involving 22 vehicles near Williams on Thursday. A fire caused by the crash burned for more than 12 hours, according to ADOT officials. DPS identified the victims as Juan Beltran Sanchez of Chino Valley and Evelyn Davis of Ganado. The roadway was covered in snow and ice when the crash happened, according to DPS. 13 passenger cars, five commercial vehicles and five “unattached trailers” were involved in the fiery crash.

Woman Hit by Car and Killed on Her Way Home from Birthday Dinner After Stopping to Save Dog

A Florida woman died last week on the way home from her birthday dinner after she was hit by an SUV while trying to help a dog on the side of the road, authorities reportedly said. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the 25-year-old Tampa resident was killed around 10:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 13, after she got out of her vehicle to help a dog she spotted along the side of the road, per NBC affiliate WFLA, Fox affiliate KSTU and The Tampa Bay Times.

Woman hit by car while checking on accident on I-15

SPANISH FORK, Utah — A woman is in the hospital after being hit by a passing car on I-15 while she was out of her vehicle checking on someone in a separate crash. Utah Highway Patrol said around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, a southbound vehicle hit the barrier near Spanish Fork. They said the weather conditions may have contributed to the crash. A driver stopped to check on the driver of the first vehicle.

18-year-old passenger killed in crash when driver rams into stopped vehicle on SW Freeway, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Investigators are looking into a multi-vehicle crash that left an 18-year-old dead and several others in the hospital Thursday morning. The wreck, reported at about 6 a.m. on Houston TranStar, blocked several lanes of IH-69 Southwest Freeway southbound at Fountain View Drive. The vehicles and the investigation were finally cleared and the lanes were reopened as of 11:30 a.m. According to the Houston Police Department, the driver of a white Ford Expedition had a flat tire and stopped in a moving lane of traffic along the freeway.

Mom missing for 6 days found alive stranded in car: ‘She had given up hope’

A 41-year-old mother of three was found alive in her wrecked car in Indiana after being trapped for six days, authorities said. A man was operating equipment for a drainage and excavation company on Tuesday when he spotted a car off a roadway, out of view from passing traffic, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said. He called his supervisor, Jeremy Vanderwall, who’s an assistant chief at a local volunteer fire department, and the two checked the car and found Brieonna Cassell inside, the sheriff’s office said.

3 Teens Killed In Tragic Car Accident On Major U.S. Highway

Three teenagers were killed in a serious car crash in Southern New Jersey on Sunday. The accident occurred around 4:17 p.m. ET on Route 55 near Glassboro in Gloucester County. Brendan Cary, 19, of Franklinville, New Jersey, was driving a Honda northbound on Route 55 with 19-year-old Dominic Reyes of Franklinville and an unidentified 17-year-old boy riding as passengers. Cary reportedly made contact with a Honda CRV that was driving in front of him, causing the teenager to lose control of his vehicle.

I-465 reopens on west side after crash

March 11, 2025

INDIANAPOLIS – A crash closed part of I-465 during Tuesday morning’s commute. According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the issue affected I-465 northbound near Rockville Road and West 10th Street (mile marker 13). Traffic was being diverted to U.S. 36. Initially, all northbound lanes were closed. Just after 6 a.m., traffic was able to get through in the right lane. Around 6:30 a.m., an additional lane reopened. All lanes reopened a few minutes later.

Driver involved in crash struck in second crash on Interstate 81

VULCAN – A driver involved in a crash on the Interstate was seriously injured when he was struck while checking on the occupants of the other vehicle involved, state troopers said Monday. The first crash happened around 6am Monday on Interstate 81 Southbound near Exit 131A in Mahanoy Township. According to State Police at Frackville, Carson Gaston, 48, of Lehighton, was headed south in a 1994 Freightliner. A pickup truck — a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Jared Longenecker, 32, of Palmyra — failed to slow down for the slower moving Freightliner and struck the rig.

Good Samaritan killed after stopping to help driver facing wrong way on Loop 202

A woman checking on a vehicle’s occupants who crashed after losing control was killed after another vehicle struck her according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. DPS previously described the incident as a wrong-way collision before correcting itself just before 2 p.m. Bart Graves, an agency spokesperson, said the driver of a Dodge Durango was heading west on Loop 202 at around 5:22 a.m. Sunday when they lost control and struck the median near 40th Street, causing the vehicle to spin before coming to rest facing the opposite direction.
