Truck driver cited after tractor-trailer hits SC trooper’s patrol car on I-95 shoulder
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper was not injured after a tractor-trailer struck his patrol vehicle early Tuesday on Interstate 95, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened around 3:21 a.m. on March 24 along northbound I-95 near mile marker 75. Investigators said the trooper had stopped on the shoulder to assist a disabled vehicle when a passing tractor-trailer hit the marked patrol car.

A driver who stopped on Route 21 in Essex County to help another motorist early Tuesday was struck and critically injured by a passing vehicle, police said. The man pulled over about 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Exit 8 in Nutley, according to Police Chief Thomas J. Strumolo. “The person stopped on the side of the highway and was crossing the road to assist a motorist with a flat tire and was struck by the vehicle,” Strumolo said.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Multiple people were injured after a crash Monday night that involved a tractor trailer and a number of passenger vehicles. At about 11:09 p.m., State Police responded to the report of a multi car crash on I-90 westbound in the area of exit 6A. The investigation has determined a vehicle traveling westbound on I-90 stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on the left side shoulder. State Police say that while the driver of the assisting vehicle was out of the vehicle, they were struck by an unknown passing vehicle that did not stop.

One person is dead in the aftermath of a crash into a disabled car on Interstate 96 in Metro Detroit, Michigan State Police said. Troopers said the fatal crash happened after a passerby had taken two children, ages 4 and 8, out of the disabled car, but the driver was still inside. The initial crash happened shortly before 8:50 p.m. Sunday on eastbound I-96 near Warren Avenue in Wayne County. A 34-year-old man was driving a Hyundai, merging from I-94 onto I-96, police said.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man died Saturday night after crashing into a stopped car. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, shortly after 9 p.m., a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 was stopped at the gore point of North Outer Road and Interstate 44 heading west. The driver of the Dodge was repairing the car and an attached tow unit. While doing so, a 2018 Chevrolet Impala heading west hit the towed unit of the Dodge.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A deadly crash shut down all inbound lanes on the North Freeway at 610 North Loop on Sunday morning, officials said. According to investigators, the crash happened at about 4 a.m., and lanes were closed until reopening at 8 a.m. Sgt. Erendira Alejandro told ABC13 a 51-year-old man in a Cadillac was parked on the right shoulder, facing the wrong way, when he got out of his car and ran toward the HOV lane.

Attem Petiukh, 37, was driving a Honda SUV on 287 North in Morristown shortly after 4 a.m. While negotiating a left curve in the road, Petiukh crashed into the back of a tractor trailer parked on the right shoulder, according to a preliminary investigation by the New Jersey State Police, who responded to the accident.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – One person is dead, and two people were critically hurt after a rollover crash shut down a portion of I-10 in Chambers County on Thursday morning, according to officials. DPS has identified the victim as a 75-year-old man from Louisiana. At least seven others had what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. In total, 10 vehicles were involved. DPS said the crash occurred around 8 a.m. on Thursday, when multiple vehicles slowed or stopped due to an existing crash.

On March 19, around 6:07 a.m., dispatchers began receiving calls about a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on northbound Highway 101, just north of Seacliff stated a press release from the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area (CHP). According to the CHP, it was determined that a 65-year-old Ventura man had pulled over to the right shoulder towards the end of the Seacliff on-ramp, before exiting his vehicle and starting to change his tire.
