2 people sent to hospital following multiple crashes on westbound Interstate 84
TREMONTON — The Utah Highway Patrol said two people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following several crashes on westbound Interstate 84 in Box Elder County. In all, state troopers said four crashes occurred in the area of milepost 28 because of slick roads. The first crash occurred around 12:13 p.m., which involved a semi and a vehicle. One person was struck outside their vehicle after the first crash and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A good Samaritan is recovering in the hospital after helping a stranded driver. He became a victim himself after he was involved in a three-vehicle crash in Aurora. NEWHALL, CA (February 19, 2024) – Jose Magana Valencia was hit and killed by a vehicle on 5 Freeway in Newhall early Sunday morning on February 18. The fatal crash happened around 2:41 a.m. just south of Highway 14. According to the CHP, Valencia’s 1977 Ford became disabled in the northbound lanes of the freeway north of Balboa Boulevard. He exited his vehicle and was struck by a 1998 Ford, driven by a 36-year-old Inglewood man.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — On Valentine’s Day, 911 calls poured in from folks driving along I-73. One caller said, “There’s been a car accident. A guy was just hit on the highway.” Another caller said, “There’s been a bad accident and I think someone’s been killed.” Marcus Nivens, 62, of Winston-Salem, died after pulling off on I-73 to refill his car with gas. Police said a driver rammed into a car behind him, before hitting Nivens.

OAK PARK, Ill. - A driver died after rear-ending a semi on the Eisenhower Expressway Thursday evening in west suburban Oak Park. A 2008 Ford Edge rear-ended a semi that was parked on the shoulder of I-290 around 7:30 p.m. near Oak Park Avenue, according to Illinois State Police. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. They have not yet been identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at 8:45 a.m. a 31-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Equinox westbound on I-694 in the right lane approaching Snelling Avenue. The driver swerved from the right lane to the left shoulder, then over corrected and spun out.

Subsequently, Lupich exited the disabled vehicle and was hit by a northbound motorist.

Three people died and two others were injured in a rear-end collision on Interstate Highway 80 at the Bay Bridge early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. At approximately 4:14 a.m., CHP officers learned that a Toyota Tacoma struck a Mini Cooper on the highway’s eastbound lanes west of Treasure Island, CHP Public Information Officer Mark Andrews said. Emergency crews found two of the three occupants of the Mini Cooper were killed by the crash.
